Abstract: In one aspect, an example method includes (i) estimating, using a skeletal detection model, a pose of an original actor for each of multiple frames of a video; (ii) obtaining, for each of a plurality of the estimated poses, a respective image of a replacement actor; (iii) obtaining replacement speech in the replacement actor's voice that corresponds to speech of the original actor in the video; (iv) generating, using the estimated poses, the images of the replacement actor, and the replacement speech, synthetic frames corresponding to the multiple frames of the video that depict the replacement actor in place of the original actor, with the synthetic frames including facial expressions for the replacement actor that temporally align with the replacement speech; and (iv) combining the synthetic frames and the replacement speech so as to obtain a synthetic video that replaces the original actor with the replacement actor.

Abstract: An improved model-based approach for undoing actions in an application that was not previously configured with an undo feature is disclosed. Object models are constructed for each object invoked by the application. Snapshots of the object model are captured after every action to preserve the object model state at different points in time. The object model includes an object tree data structure having multiple nodes comprising data and metadata for the object. The object model is frozen and editing of the object is only permitted via an undo management engine. In response to edits from the application, the undo management engine responds by unfreezing the path of object nodes from leaf node to root node in the object tree data structure. Edits are applied to the object model at the leaf node. The object model can then be re-frozen to maintain the state of the object after each action.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a display device and to an method for operating same and more particularly, to a method for producing advertisement content using a display device and to the display device for the same, which enable a user to accurately and quickly produce advertisement content and display the produced advertisement content in the case where advertisement content is displayed by using the display device as signage. The present invention generates first content included in the advertisement content, generates second content included in the advertisement content, sets the execution time of the first and second content, and stores the advertisement content including the first content, the second content, and the setting information.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically enabling subtitles are provided. A user request to enable subtitles setting is received while the user is viewing a first media asset. A characteristic associated with the first media asset is retrieved. An indication of user preference for subtitles of media assets associated with the retrieved characteristic is automatically stored in response to receiving the user request. The subtitles setting is automatically enabled when the subtitles setting is disabled, based on the stored indication, when a second media asset that is associated with the retrieved characteristic is accessed.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide novel methods for editing the value of an attribute of a media item (e.g., a media content or a media operation) for a media editing application. Such attributes of a media item can include scale, rotation, opacity, pan, volume, etc. In some embodiments, a media editing application represents the changing value of such an attribute over a duration (e.g., a duration of time or frequencies, etc.) as a key-indexed geometry. A user can manipulate these geometries to change the attribute value over a duration, which may include graphs and shapes. For such applications, some embodiments provide a novel method for editing the value of one or more attribute directly in a preview display area used to view the composite presentation created in the media editing application.

Abstract: A method for pruning and grooming DVD content into a format compatible to be viewed over a network is disclosed. The method provides for automated DVD conversion. The method provides for removing and editing DVD content that is not desirable to be delivered over the network and adding and editing additional content that is desirable to be delivered over the network. The method provides for navigational enhancement that provide: tie-ins to on demand portals; key-mapping; button highlighting; intra-menu navigation; inter-menu navigation and DVD disc merge capability.

Abstract: A method and device for transmitting and receiving a video stream are provided. The transmitting method includes receiving auxiliary information and one or more video streams, and distributing them as one or more pieces of lane data; transmitting the lane data to a receiving device; and receiving a result value that indicates whether a video processing unit for processing one of the one or more video streams works normally. The receiving method includes receiving one or more pieces of lane data that include auxiliary information and one or more video streams; merging the lane data into one or more video streams; selecting a video processing unit based on the auxiliary information, where one or more video processing units process the video streams; generating a result value for the selected video processing unit that indicates whether the video processing unit works normally; and transmitting the result value to a transmitting device.

Abstract: A data pasting method and apparatus. The method determines attributes of a source object that is data to be pasted. The attributes of each candidate paste target is obtained among a plurality of candidate paste targets, the attributes of the candidate paste targets contrain an editable component which determines a matching relationship between each of the candidate paste targets and the source object based on the attributes of the source object and the attributes of the editable component. The method provides recommendation for pasting the source object based on the matching relationship. By adopting the technical solution according to the present application, the efficiency of data pasting operation can be improved. Also provided is an apparatus for implementing the above data pasting method.

Abstract: This specification describes technologies relating to editing digital audio data. In some implementations, a computer-implemented method is provided. The method includes displaying a visual representation of audio data, receiving an image, positioning the image as overlapping a portion of the displayed visual representation of the audio data, and editing the audio data corresponding to the portion of the displayed visual representation of the audio data overlapped by the image to form edited audio data, the editing including applying a variable editing effect according to the image content. Abstract: Systems and methods of synchronizing media are provided. A client device may be used to capture a sample of a media stream being rendered by a media rendering source. The client device sends the sample to a position identification module to determine a time offset indicating a position in the media stream corresponding to the sampling time of the sample, and optionally a timescale ratio indicating a speed at which the media stream is being rendered by the media rendering source based on a reference speed of the media stream. The client device calculates a real-time offset using a present time, a timestamp of the media sample, the time offset, and optionally the timescale ratio. The client device then renders a second media stream at a position corresponding to the real-time offset to be in synchrony to the media stream being rendered by the media rendering source.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, an application comprises a sharing mechanism that allows a user to 1) quickly generate an image of information from a document, such as a screenshot of information displayed in a graphical user interface; 2) concurrently generate a link to the document, and 3) simultaneously paste the image with the associated link in another application. The image and link are generated in response to a single user input, such as a click on a “one-click sharing button.” The image and link are placed in a buffer, such as a clipboard, in such a manner that both may be retrieved via a single paste operation. Once pasted in another document, the image with the associated link may be shared with other users via email or any other suitable means. Techniques for pre-cropping and pre-annotating generated screenshots are also described.

Abstract: A storage medium for storing text-based subtitle data including style information, a reproducing apparatus and methods are provided for reproducing text-based subtitle data including style information separately recorded on the storage medium. The storage medium includes: multimedia image data; and text-based subtitle data for displaying subtitles on an image based on the multimedia image data, wherein the text-based subtitle data includes dialog information indicating subtitle contents to be displayed on the image, style information indicating an output style of the dialog information, and partial style information indicating an output style applied to a portion of the dialog information. Accordingly, subtitles can be provided in a plurality of languages without limited to the number of units of subtitle data. In addition, subtitle data can be easily produced and edited. Likewise, an output style of the subtitle data can be changed in a variety of ways.

A mobile user's mobile replacement-dialogue recording device obtains guide media and allows the user to view the guide media in rehearsal mode. The mobile replacement-dialogue recording device then records the mobile user's dialogue performance while presenting the mobile user with synchronized guide media. The mobile user can review, delete, and rerecord the resulting potential replacement dialogue, as well as create feedback media characterizing the replacement dialogue. Selected replacement dialogue items can be transmitted to the media server. A studio-module can then obtain the selected replacement dialogue items and feedback media from the media server so that they may be used in media-replacement.

In accordance with one embodiment, multi-video synthesis includes breaking a main video into a plurality of main frames and break a supplementary video into a plurality of supplementary frames. The multi-video synthesis also includes assigning one or more supplementary frames into each of a plurality of states of a Hidden Markov Model (HMM), where each of the plurality of states corresponding to one or more main frames. The multi-video synthesis further includes determining optimal frames in the plurality of main frames for insertion of the plurality of supplementary frames based on the plurality of states and visual properties. The optimal frames include optimal insertion positions. The multi-video synthesis additionally includes inserting the plurality of supplementary frames into the optimal insertion positions to form a synthesized video.

The method includes extracting video metadata from a video program displayed on a playback device to a viewer, extracting component metadata from a plurality of audio components stored in a media object library, extracting viewer preferences from a viewer profile, receiving synchronization information about the video program, identifying a segment of the video program susceptible to inserting an audio component based on extracted video metadata, component metadata, and viewer preferences, transmitting the audio component to the playback device and a set of instructions detailing how to insert the audio component in real time in the segment of the video program, and constructing audio in the video program at the playback device using the audio component and the set of instructions.
