Abstract: Media management for multi-user groups includes methods for determining a numeric score for recorded content being one of a popularity score or a relevance score, and for displaying a content library as an array of images each sized in accordance with its popularity score. The methods may also include social group features whereby a user may compare her content library with other libraries in her social group, and view relative popularity of content titles in the other libraries. The system includes numerous other features for content exploration, acquisition and management. An apparatus for performing the method comprises a processor coupled to a memory, the memory holding instructions for performing steps of the method as summarized above. Various aspects of the system may be implemented as a server or a client.

Abstract: A virtual meeting place system is disclosed. The online virtual meeting place facilitates initiating, scheduling, or spontaneously organizing an online discussion or meeting, organizing the discussion into active and passive participants, limiting or eliminate participation of selected participants and soliciting, receiving and answering questions. The system is configurable to allow for customization based upon the social protocols or preferences of meeting participants and may present different user interfaces based upon participant identity, meeting topic or meeting format.

Abstract: Computer-implemented methods for grouping web page viewing windows in a web browser are provided. In one aspect, a computer-implemented method includes receiving a request to open a web page viewing window within a web browser that has multiple previously opened web page viewing windows. The method also includes automatically grouping each tab indicator associated with a subset of the web page viewing windows into a group based on an amount of viewable display space within the web browser to display each tab indicator associated with each of the web page viewing windows. Systems, graphical user interfaces, and machine-readable media are also provided.

Abstract: A system and method for transmitting documents from a document device, such as an MFP. The MFP accesses calendar and workflow servers to determine a list of information items. A user can select an information item for which the document is to be associated and the document device will then determine all of the associated document destinations, e.g., workspaces, email addresses, and the like, and then subsequently transmit the documents to all of the document destinations that are associated with the information item or a subset of the document destination associated with the information item as selected by the user.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to queued requests to establish human-to-human collaborative sessions and provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for managing queued requests to establish human-to-human collaborative sessions. In one embodiment, a human-to-human collaborative data processing system can be provided which can include a messenger configured for coupling to other messengers. The system further can include a queue of incoming session requests to establish respective human-to-human collaborative sessions with requesters associated with the other messengers. Finally, the system can include queue management logic enabled to order the session requests in the queue according to queue rules coupled to the queue management logic.

Abstract: Described are systems, methods, computer programs, and user interfaces for image location, acquisition, analysis, and data correlation that uses human-in-the-loop processing, Human Intelligence Tasks (HIT), and/or or automated image processing. Results obtained using image analysis are correlated to non-spatial information useful for commerce and trade. For example, images of regions of interest of the earth are used to count items (e.g., cars in a store parking lot to predict store revenues), detect events (e.g., unloading of a container ship, or evaluating the completion of a construction project), or quantify items (e.g., the water level in a reservoir, the area of a farming plot).

Abstract: A method for providing content via a communications network on a user's computer, obtained from a plurality of resources in an organized arrangement is provided. The method includes creating a show structure of nodes, each node identifying a resource from a plurality of accessible resources, at least some of which are network accessible resources. Without requiring user input, a plurality of the network accessible resources, identified by a corresponding node, are automatically accessed. Content corresponding to each of the accessed resources is automatically presented through the user's computer in accordance with the show structure. Advertisement content is presented to the user in connection with the automatic presentation of the content through the user's computer.

Abstract: A system and method for interfacing interactive systems with social networks and media playback devices is described. For example, a system for generating and interacting with media content is described. In one embodiment, the system includes an interactive system that displays media content, wherein the interactive system includes a first computer and sensors for recording a user's interaction with the displayed media content, and a kiosk that allows a user to share the interactive media content with social networks and media playback devices, wherein the interactive media content includes the media content and metadata representing the user's recorded interaction with the media content.

Abstract: Method and system for conditionally transmitting changes to information in a collaborative environment are provided. A system comprises a display, a change tracking module, and a rendering module. The change tracking module is configured to detect changes by a modifying user to information as a propagating or a non-propagating change. The rendering module transmits first view data to enable altering a first view based on the modification as part of a graphical user interface on the display presented to the modifying user and transmits second view data to enable altering a second view presented to a group of users, not including the modifying user, based on the modification if the modification comprises the propagating change. The second view data is not transmitted if the modification comprises the non-propagating change.

Abstract: A set of data is obtained, representing a graph of a computer network having a set of hardware nodes and a set of hardware links between the hardware nodes. The hardware links are represented as edges in the graph. A first subset (for example, a vertex cut set) of the set of hardware nodes is found, such that those of the hardware nodes in the first subset are able to withstand a maximum number of failures before the graph disconnects. The failures include node failures and/or edge failures. The hardware nodes in the first subset are ranked based on expected resiliency, to obtain a ranked list. Optionally, in case of a tie between two or more of the hardware nodes in the ranked list, the tie is broken using a sum of shortest path metric.

Abstract: The functionality of a browser application is enhanced using a browser plug-in, which enables the browser application to access portions of a file system not otherwise accessible to the browser application. The enhanced functionality provided by the browser plug-in is used in one example by an image uploading web application. The browser application may also start a task in the background, such as a task for uploading several images, and then monitor the progress of the task even when the browser application navigates away from the page that initiated the task. The browser application may use a local web server running on the client device to perform tasks, including the rendering of images and monitoring progress of long running tasks.

Abstract: An example system and method elicits reviews and opinions from users via an online system or a web crawl. Opinions on topics are processed in real time to determine orientation. Each topic is analyzed sentence by sentence to find a central tendency of user orientation toward a given topic. Automatic topic orientation is used to provide a common comparable rating value between reviewers and potentially other systems on similar topics. Facets of the topics are extracted via a submission/acquisition process to determine the key variables of interest for users.

Abstract: A video conferencing system presents video conference feeds of remote participants in different video conferencing units that are located throughout a conference room. Each of the available units is located at a different position within the conference room. At any point in time, a remote participant is associated with one of the units. The remote participant may move and/or be moved to a different unit during the video conference. For example, a presenter may ask the remote participant to “sit” at a particular unit and/or the remote participant may decide to move to a different unit within the room. Each of the units is configured to determine when a local participant is addressing a remote participant that is associated with the unit. When more than one remote participant is associated with a particular unit, the remote participant who is being communicated with may be shown prominently on the display.

Since the cursor-based GUI is persistent in nature, the plurality of applications, commands and event notifications can be accessed regardless of the user's computer environment. The user can manage user authentication requirements and other configuration information for the cursor-based GUI.

Abstract: An automatic scrolling mechanism converts an information repository into media that can actively present and “push” information to the users/viewers while retaining existing “pull” and interactivity functions. Automatic scrolling can be controlled by placing a cursor on control icons, such as boxes, lines, and arrow clusters. While the cursor is on an icon, automatic scrolling brings into view content that extends beyond the field of view. The scrolled content is moved into the field of view of the display window in a predetermined direction designated by the icon. Sub-windows are also designed to be independently and automatically scrolled or floated with respect the main window. Links created in an information repository may be automatically activated to retrieve the linked information, and to automatically present and scroll the information. As the content is automatically scrolled, the repository is pushed and the user is allured to further navigate through the repository.

The production server translates the created pages into the format to proceed through the regular preparation for production of the yearbook.

A source computer and a display in communication with a destination computer establish a wireless connection. A user console session of the source computer has a virtual display driver that corresponds to the wireless display. The source computer takes this graphical information that, when executed on a processor generate an image, text, sound or input—encodes it with a remote presentation protocol. Through encoding and decoding image data, text, sound, and input of the user console session transmitted to a wireless display with a remote presentation protocol, fidelity and interactivity are improved.

The visualizer tool may also determine from the configuration two or more services having a common set of configuration properties and managed by a first virtual server. The visualizer tool may establish a service container comprising these services. The visualizer tool may display via an interface a graphical representation of the configuration and the operational status of the first virtual server and the service container identifying the common set of configuration properties of these services.
