Remote Operation Of Computing Device Patents (Class 715/740)
  • Patent number: 10706836
Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for generating an audible presentation of a communication received from a remote server. A presentation of a media asset on a user equipment device is generated for a first user. A textual-based communication is received, at the user equipment device from the remote server. The textual-based communication is transmitted to the remote server by a second user and the remote server transmits the textual-based communication to the user equipment device responsive to determining that the second user is on a list of users associated with the first user. An engagement level of the first user with the user equipment device is determined. Responsive to determining that the engagement level does not exceed a threshold value, a presentation of the textual-based communication is generated in audible form.

  • Patent number: 10705566
Abstract: A hybrid docking station determines whether native video data exists and can be passed through to a video port or whether a virtual video processor should be activated to provide virtual video data to a video port. For example, a laptop is connected to a hybrid docking station using a USB™ 3.0 connection. The hybrid docking station recognizes that the USB™ 3.0 connection includes a native video data and passes the native video data to a DisplayPort™. By avoiding activating a virtualized video processor and using native video data, the laptop avoids installing software to communicate with the virtualized video processor and communicates with one or more displays using a native video channel. By avoiding installing software, it simplifies IT's and user's usage and experience with universal docking station.

  • Patent number: 10601831
Abstract: When a user is attempting to access a server application, a challenge is received, in a browser, for a one or more login credentials to access a server application (e.g., a web page). For example, a user is requested to provide a user name and password to login to the server application. In response to the user providing the credentials via the browser, the login credentials are sent. If the credentials are validated, an access token is received by the browser from the server application. In response to receiving the access token for the server application, the browser sends the access token and an address for the server application, via a local loopback address, to a local application. This allows the local application to send local information, such as local files, to the server application using the token.

  • Patent number: 10530820
Abstract: A host device (200) for wireless communication with multiple dockee devices (220,221,230) is coupled to peripherals (210,211) for rendering audio or video (AV) data. The host has a docking processor for docking dockee devices for providing access to the peripherals. The dockee device has a dockee processor arranged for docking, as a dockee device, with the host device for getting access to the peripherals. The docking processor is arranged for docking at least one primary dockee device (230) and at least one secondary dockee device (220,221). Thereby, to the primary dockee device, control is provided over the peripherals for determining the AV data to be rendered. To the secondary dockee device is transferred the AV data to be rendered via the peripherals. For example a primary dockee device, presenter P, is enabled to control and determine the AV contents that are rendered, whereas secondary devices, attendees A, are enabled to monitor the AV data.

  • Patent number: 10496738
Abstract: Display information may be captured, selectively encoded, and transmitted to a server during a remote viewing session. The server implements a decoder and a virtual display which is updated as information is received from the display. Browser based Javascript viewers connect to the server and request updated information associated with the remote viewing session. When the server receives an update request, the server creates images based on the content of the virtual display and transmits the location and dimensions of changed images to the viewer, which uses this information to request and display the images. By transmitting the content of the remote viewing session as a series of images, a viewer may participate in a remote viewing session using any device capable of running a browser. Since images are transmitted to viewers on demand, bandwidth limitations associated with transmission of images are automatically accommodated.

Abstract: An item sharing machine is configured to receive share requests in the example form of allocation requests submitted by requesters for an allocable region of a graphical user interface. The allocation requests specify numerical values accorded to the allocable region by the requesters. The item sharing machine determines a distribution of the numerical values and, based on the distribution, generates an allocation plan defined by configuration parameters for the allocable region. The item sharing machine is configured to repeatedly update the allocable region based on the allocation plan by cyclically and selectively linking the allocable region to different computers of different requesters based on the allocation plan. The allocable region accordingly becomes linked to computers of different requesters at different times, and the item sharing machine is configured to cause one or more user devices to present the allocable region linked to such computers at different times.

  • Patent number: 9560112
Abstract: A method to operate field devices using an operating device with a touch-sensitive input and/or display area via which, for the purpose of operation, a field-device-dependent main menu level is displayed with multiple segments and at least one first segmentation level, which is assigned to a specific segment. A zoom function is used to increase or reduce the size of a selected segment of the main menu level and change the transparency of the main menu level and the transparency of the first segmentation level so that the transparency of the main menu level increases and the transparency of the first segmentation level decreases when the user zooms in such that the first segmentation level becomes visible. The transparency of the main menu level decreases and the transparency of the first segmentation level increases when the user zooms out such that the main menu level becomes visible such that switching takes place between the main menu level and the first segmentation level assigned to the desired segment.
