Abstract: Building on a set of captured audiovisual segments clipped to provide a palette of audio and synched video, techniques and implementations described herein facilitate a new and highly-personalized (and in some cases crowd-sourced or sourcable) genre of audiovisual sampling and musical performance. Using a palette of captured and/or imported audio and associated video, users can remix to create a coordinated audiovisual performance. Because the audiovisual sampling and musical performance capabilities can be hosted on ubiquitous handheld or other portable computing devices such as smartphones and/or pad-type computers, user/musicians can, in essence, creatively remix their life.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus connected to a printer includes dialog screen producing section, a common preview producing section, and a display section. The dialog screen producing section is configured to produce a dialog screen that includes a plurality of tab sheets. The tab sheets prompt an operator to input first setting information for printing. The common preview producing section is configured to produce a common preview image that should be displayed on the dialog screen. The common preview image appears in all of the plurality of tab sheets. The display section is configured to display the dialog screen and the common preview image.

Abstract: Images are analyzed within a 3D environment that is generated based on spatial relationships of the images and that allows users to experience the images in the 3D environment. Image analysis may include ranking images based on user viewing information, such as the number of users who have viewed an image and how long an image was viewed. Image analysis may further include analyzing the spatial density of images within a 3D environment to determine points of user interest.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for enabling multimodal tags in a communication device is disclosed. The method comprises receiving a first training signal and receiving a second training signal in conjunction with the first training signal. A multimodal tag is created by discarding redundant or non-discriminative information associated with each of the first and second training signals to represent a combination of the first training signal and the second training signal and a function is associated with the created multimodal tag.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling users to rapidly flip through displayed pages of content in an intuitive manner are provided. Graphical animations for transitioning from one page to another can be executed so that portions of three or more pages can be simultaneously viewed. This enables a user to make snap judgments as to whether she wishes to explore any one of those pages in more detail as she rapidly flips through the pages.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for processing an input of an electronic device are provided. The method includes displaying an object screen; buffering an object at a position where a proximity input is detected, when the proximity input is detected; and, executing the buffered object collectively and displaying an execution screen when a touch input is detected on the object on which the proximity input occurs.

Abstract: A user interface that includes a canvas that extends in one direction. An activation mechanism may be used to generate an initial blade in the canvas. A blade is a user interface element that occupies a portion of the canvas in the dimension along which the canvas extends. The blade includes multiple selectable elements that each have a corresponding blade. The user interface includes an extension mechanism configured to present a corresponding subsequent blade on the canvas perhaps adjacent to the prior blade when a selected element from a prior blade is selected, the subsequent blade also including multiple selectable elements that may be hierarchically structured. In this manner, blade chains may be created representative of a journey that the user has taken since initiating the first blade.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to a computer-implemented method for graphically displaying or presenting a fisheye-based view of a large data list on the limited content viewing area of a mobile device. At least a subset of data rows within the data list and graphical representations of a plurality of data fields of at least the subset of data rows are generated and graphically displayed using a graphical user interface of the mobile device. When a user selects a focus row from the displayed data rows, a fisheye-based view of the selected focus row is presented. The fisheye-based view and the graphical representations of the data fields provide the user with a focus-plus-context view of a large data list. Further, the graphical representations provide the user with meaningful information even when particular data items are too small to read specific values.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method which, in one embodiment, enables a user to navigate the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS). The method initially involves uploading a delimited HTS file, and using it to create a wizard which optionally allows the user to navigate a series of options menus, or alternatively, the entire menu hierarchy can be displayed on the same screen. The selections made at every menu is saved for future reference. The method also optionally enables the documentation of Export Control Classification Numbers, which are recorded along with applicable control information for the product.

Abstract: Apparatus, system and method for presenting content in a multi-dimensional format is disclosed. A communication apparatus is configured to communicate data to a network, and a storage is operatively coupled to the communication apparatus. The storage is configured to store data to be presented to a user via the network. A processor may be configured to process the data to generate a presentation form for the data, wherein the presentation form includes a polyhedron having a plurality of faces, wherein each face of the polyhedron includes a portion of the data on each face. The presentation form may further include a secondary form that is nested within an area inside the polyhedron. The presentation form is then communicated for presentation to the user. A portable device is also disclosed for controlling and interacting with the presentation form.

Abstract: When a user uses an image processing device, the image processing device accesses a private PC of the user connected to a network to request acquisition of environmental information. A printer driver in the private PC collects various settings (including desktop theme, application settings, and device driver settings) from within the private PC. The settings are transmitted to the image processing device. The image processing device, based on the acquired setting information, changes the panel display, application settings, and others. This simplifies setting of the image processing device.

Abstract: In a network-linked computer graphics image rendering system serving to render images of objects in scenes, these objects are so rendered from high-resolution 3D models and textures that are, in particular, stored and maintained on one or more server computers in one or more libraries that are secure. Using stand-in object models and textures, design professionals at client computers are able to “fine-tune” and preview designs that incorporate objects stored securely in the server's(s') models' library(ies). Yet the high-resolution, 3D, relatively expensive, and proprietary object models remain completely secure at one (i.e., centralized) or more (i.e., distributed) server computers. 2D perspective-view or stereo in-situ photorealistic images of scenes incorporating these objects are rendered at the one or more sever computers, for subsequent remote viewing at the one or more client computers.

Abstract: A tile-based user interface (UI) may be presented on a display device in tile view in full-screen view. The underlying application is active whether the UI is in tile view or in full-screen view, and may generate data that can be presented via the UI. In tile view, the UI may present abbreviated representations of information generated by the underlying application. In full-screen view, the UI may present detailed representations of information, including graphical UI elements and data elements that were not presented in the tile view UI.

Abstract: An electronic device and a method are adapted to identify window control commands in a multi-window system. The electronic device displays multiple windows each respectively having a title bar on a touch interface. The electronic device executes the method to identify a window control command according to a touch gesture from a movement of a touch point detected on the title bar of one of the windows. The user can easily touch the title bar to operate a certain window.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for displaying tag data on a browser display interface. According to the present invention, an instruction for acquiring data associated with a data tag of an browser display interface is triggered when it is detected that a pointing device is moved onto the data tag; the data associated with the data tag is acquired in response to the instruction for acquiring the data; and a data browsing interface is generated for the acquired data, and the generated data browsing interface is displayed on the browser display interface on which the pointing device locates. The advantageous effect of the present invention is that the data browsing interface associated with the data tag is displayed on the browser display interface, thereby improving the efficiency of window switching and the convenience of use, and leading to a more intelligent browser.

Abstract: Meeting and conferencing systems and methods are implemented in a variety of manners. Consistent with an embodiment of the present disclosure, a meeting system is implemented that includes a computer server arrangement with at least one processor. The computer server arrangement is configured to provide a web-based meeting-group subscription option to potential meeting participants. A meeting scheduling data is received over a web-accessible virtual meeting interface. The meeting scheduling data includes group identification information and meeting time information. In response to the group identification information, participant identification information is retrieved for participants that subscribe to a meeting group identified by the group identification information. In response to the meeting time information and the participant identifying information, audio connections are established for participants of the meeting.

Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods are disclosed which provide user interfaces for enhanced web browsing. The systems and methods monitor a user's web browsing activity, determine times at which the user is likely to desire web browsing assistance, and provide additional content deemed relevant to the user's web browsing activities. In one embodiment, the system detects that a user is requesting search results from a third party search engine. The system determines content to provide alongside the search results the user receives, and displays that content to the user. The content preferably is hyperlinks to some of the most popular websites on the internet. In another embodiment, the system detects that a user is browsing to a very popular website. The system determines popular websites that are related to the website the user is viewing and presents those websites to the user.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention are directed to, among other things, systems, computer readable media, methods and any other means for using a handheld device to present information to a user. The handheld device and server(s) can be configured to differentiate among inexpensive and expensive information. For example, the handheld device can be configured to present media listings that represent media stored on the server(s). Each media listing can include text (inexpensive information) and thumbnails (expensive information). While the user scrolls through the media listings, the new listings can only include text. Once the scrolling stops, the missing thumbnails can be downloaded and integrated into their corresponding listings. In response to a listing being selected, the corresponding media file can be downloaded and/or played back to the user by the handheld device.

Abstract: In general, embodiments of the present invention provide an approach to control computer-based interfaces from anywhere in a GUI (e.g. a window, a desktop, etc.) regardless of the fixed position of the instances. Specifically, using a pointing device or the like (e.g., by right clicking), a user can activate an instance control function that allows the user to open an instance, close an instance, and/or or switch between running instances. Along these lines, the instance control function can be activated by interacting with an icon, a window (e.g., corresponding a folder or a running instance), or a desktop. Once activated, the instance control function allows the user full control over instances.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for storing and restoring digital data. In some implementations, a method is provided. The method includes displaying a current view, initiating a history view, the history view including two or more visual representations of corresponding earlier versions of the current view, identifying a selection of an item in a visual representation, receiving an input to delete the selected item, and deleting each instance of the selected item in the history view.
