Abstract: An electronic device can be enhanced to enable its user to navigate about and view, on the device's display, different portions of a page or document while the device remains in a zoomed-in mode that magnifies the portion of the document that the device is currently displaying. Upon entering the zoomed-in mode, the device can magnify a portion of the document on the display. While in this mode, the device can react to user-produced gestures in a manner that is different to the manner in which the device would react to the same gestures otherwise. Responsive to user-produced gestures while in the zoomed-in mode, the device can navigate to other portions of the document while remaining in the zoomed-in mode, so that those other portions are also presented magnified. The device's user is not forced to first zoom-out from one document portion in order to zoom-in on another document portion.

  • Publication number: 20130326398
Abstract: Embodiments herein include a scroll manager that provides a mechanism for scrolling that includes automatic zooming or resizing during a scrolling operation. In response to receiving a scroll input, the scroll manager automatically reduces a graphical display size of electronic content to a second graphical display size while simultaneously moving the electronic content across a display area in a given direction. An initial layout of the electronic content is maintained during scrolling operations. By using less vertical space a given page or document containing the content does not need to travel as far vertically on the display screen to display more content. Because the display difference is a shorter linear display distance, this scrolling functionality provides a finer-grained control when scrolling more electronic content. Location during scrolling operations can be identified by visual context, thereby improving scroll navigation efficiency and control.

Abstract: A method of efficiently adjusting a timeline in a time window. An application program displays a window that includes a graphical user interface (GUI), at least a portion of time-based data, a timeline, and a slider bar. If a click and drag occurs while a cursor is over the slider bar, the application moves the slider bar and changes a position of data displayed in the window by an amount corresponding to the movement. The application increases the timeline scale if the slider bar reaches an edge of the timeline. Abstract: A hard disk drive stores hierarchical image data, a speed map holding, for each tile image, an index of the processing time required to render a tile image having a predetermined image size obtained by partitioning the image, and scenario data which defines viewpoint shifting. In a control unit of an information processing apparatus having a function of displaying an image, an input information acquisition unit acquires information with respect to the user's input operation via an input device. A loading unit loads necessary data for image displaying from the hard disk drive. A shifting condition adjustment unit adjusts the viewpoint shifting speed based upon the speed map. A frame coordinate determination unit sequentially determines frame coordinates of a display area. A decoding unit decodes compressed image data. A display image processing unit renders a display image.
