Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for fetching graphics data for rendering a scene presented on a display device. The method includes receiving gaze information for eyes of a user while the user is interacting with the scene. The method includes tracking gestures of the user while the user is interacting with the scene. The method includes identifying a content item in the scene as being a potential focus of interactivity by the user. The method includes processing the gaze information and the gestures of the user to generate a prediction of interaction with the content item by the user. The method includes processing a pre-fetching operation to access and load the graphics data into system memory in anticipation of the user interacting with the content item. In this way, when a prediction of interaction with a content item in the scene is determined based on the game actions (e.g., eye gaze, gestures, etc.

Abstract: An information handling system includes a memory that stores a registry with a multiple fields for applications executed in the information handling system. A processor receives an update for a monitored application of the applications. In response to the update being received, the processor updates one of the fields of the registry to indicate that the update is available for the first application. Based on the one of the fields being updated, the processor determines an idle time of the information handling system. During the idle time, the processor provides an update request to a trusted device and determines whether an update request confirmation has been received from the trusted device. In response to the update request confirmation being received, the processor performs the update for each application that requires an update.

Abstract: There is provided an application screen display program implementation method for executing application software to display a screen using an information processing apparatus. Each record of a master table for controlling the display of each display element for display elements configuring a screen and transaction data input and output from the display element has a field for holding an index of an array, and association with an index of an array in a source code of an execution program is performed. Therefore, in application development, the required man-hours with respect to the change of the display screen are reduced.

Abstract: Implementations described herein relate to methods, systems, and computer-readable media for computer-assisted graphical development. In some implementations, a computer-implemented method includes providing a GUI that includes at least one manipulable graphical object having one or more edges or vertices and a virtual pivot point, providing a dragger handle at a first position in the GUI, the dragger handle operable via user input to alter one or more of: a size, location, scale, or characteristic of the at least one manipulable graphical object based on the virtual pivot point, wherein the dragger handle is at least initially displayed on at least one of the one or more edges or vertices, receiving a request to summon the dragger handle, and, in response to the request, moving positioning the dragger handle to a different position in the GUI separate from the at least one manipulable graphical object.

The control overlay provides a larger selection area than an underlying user interface element. In one example, the method may include receiving a request associated with a user interface element from among a plurality of user interface elements displayed within a user interface, the user interface element comprising a selectable area, displaying a control overlay for the user interface element via the user interface, the control overlay being partially translucent and comprising a selectable area that is larger than and encompasses the selectable area of the user interface element, detecting an input command via the selectable area of the control overlay, and in response to the detection of the input command, selecting the user interface element displayed via the user interface.

Abstract: Scalable architectures, systems, and services are provided herein for creating manifest-based snapshots in distributed computing environments. In some embodiments, responsive to receiving a request to create a snapshot of a data object, a master node identifies multiple slave nodes on which a data object is stored in the cloud-computing platform and creates a snapshot manifest representing the snapshot of the data object. The snapshot manifest comprises a file including a listing of multiple file names in the snapshot manifest and reference information for locating the multiple files in the distributed database system. The snapshot can be created without disrupting I/O operations, e.g., in an online mode by various region servers as directed by the master node. Additionally, a log roll approach to creating the snapshot is also disclosed in which log files are marked. The replaying of log entries can reduce the probability of causal consistency in the snapshot.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to processing operations configured to provide, through an adapted user interface of an application/service, seamless application of autocorrection for an electronic document and provision of review insights into the autocorrections. In addition to applying autocorrections, processing described herein selectively determines when to apply an autocorrection (e.g., while a user is entering an input or after) and further highlights autocorrections, through a user interface, in a manner that instantly lets a user know that an autocorrection has occurred and/or what type of autocorrection is being applied.

Abstract: Offered is a system and devices that can provide additional functionality to device-to-device messaging. The system may translate message content from one language into other languages depending on the language preferences of the operating users. The system can also enable a user to respond to a message using a graphical user interface (GUI) element and, in response to the selection of that element, enable additional functionality. The additional functionality may include, for example, offering an originator of the message menu options to select different message content (such as different text corresponding to alternate speech recognition results if the message was originally spoken), the option to select a different translation of the original message content (through a back translation operation) or other options.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for optimizing the loading of a web page. The server receives indications (e.g., Document Object Model (DOM) elements) of web page elements of interest of a web page from multiple client devices. The server updates a list of web page elements for the requested web page that is sorted in terms of popularity based on these received indications of web page elements of interest. The server may then appropriately respond to a request to retrieve that web page by accessing such a list and transmitting to the browser of the requesting client device the data to populate the content of the web page elements for the requested web page in an order based on the sorted list. In this manner, the browser will be able to optimize the loading of the web page.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for optimizing the loading of a web page. The server receives indications (e.g., Document Object Model (DOM) elements) of web page elements of interest of a web page from multiple client devices. The server updates a list of web page elements for the requested web page that is sorted in terms of popularity based on these received indications of web page elements of interest. The server may then appropriately respond to a request to retrieve that web page by accessing such a list and transmitting to the browser of the requesting client device the data to populate the content of the web page elements for the requested web page in an order based on the sorted list. In this manner, the browser will be able to optimize the loading of the web page.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for providing a visual example-based user interface for adjusting images is provided. In example embodiments, a new image to be adjusted is received. A plurality of basis styles is generated by applying adjustment parameters to the new image. Each of the plurality of basis styles comprises an adjusted version of the new image with an adjustment of at least one image control. A user interface is provided that positions a version of the new image in a center portion and positions the plurality of basis styles on the user interface based on the adjustment parameters applied to the new image. A control mechanism is provided over the version of the new image whereby movement of the control mechanism to a new position on the user interface causes the version of the new image to adjust accordingly.

Some embodiments include determining a preferred criterion from the plurality of different criteria, providing a second arrangement of the application icons for a dynamic application menu based on the usage data and the preferred criterion, and providing an option to send a signal to rearrange the application icons on a mobile device to substantially match the second arrangement of the application icons.

When the user selects to specially paste the object, an interface is presented for the user to select from a variety of styles and format codes or predefined groups thereof to keep in the pasted object. Once the user selects the level of structure and formatting that he or she desires to import into the target document, the object will be copied into the target document or application using only the structure and formatting selected to remain by the user.

A network page associated with a network site for display by a client is rendered for display, where the network page includes a first panel. A trajectory path of an input device pointer is determined based on movement of an input device pointer. A second panel in the network page is displayed according to the input device pointer hovering over an element in the first panel. The network page is modified according to a predetermined delay and according to a current position of the input device pointer.

The method may include receiving an indication that a first non-gaze input has been received. The method may also include causing a list of programs to be shown on a display. According to one of the techniques, identifying a person in a target image involves displaying, within a graphical user interface, an image that depicts one or more faces. One or more faces are automatically detected within the image. A user provides input that selects a face of the one or more faces to be a currently-selected face. A set of images are selected from a collection of images, where the set of images includes images that closely match the currently-selected face. Concurrently with display of the currently-selected face, each image in the set of images is displayed. Within the graphical user interface, a control is provided. The control enables a user to select a target image from the set of images. In response to detecting that the user has selected a target image using the control, the currently-selected face is associated with a person to which the target image corresponds.

Abstract: An “Interactive Word Lattice” provides a user interface for interacting with and selecting user-modifiable paths through a lattice-based representation of alternative suggested text segments in response to a user's text segment input, such as phrases, sentences, paragraphs, entire documents, etc. More specifically, the user input is provided to a trained paraphrase generation model that returns a plurality of alternative text segments having the same or similar meaning as the original user input. An interactive graphical lattice-based representation of the alternative text segments is then presented to the user. One or more words of each alternative text segment represents a “node” of the lattice, while each connection between nodes represents a lattice “edge. Both nodes and edges are user modifiable. Each possible path through the lattice corresponds to a different alternative text segment. Users select a path through the lattice to select an alternative text to the original input.

Abstract: Visual feedback indicating that a graphical element is included in a selection boundary prior to a commitment of a selection is provided. Visual feedback may be displayed indicating which graphical element(s) may be selected once a lasso selection operation is completed. In one embodiment, the invention can include a data processing system including a set of user interface controls and control data including a set of cumulative selection metrics for each user interface control in the set. Each user interface control in the set, in turn, can include a label and an indicator of cumulative metrics for the user interface control. For instance, the set of user interface controls can include a set of radio buttons in a radio button control group. Abstract: An apparatus and method helps a user to determine parts of an electronic document that are of interest by allowing the user to define preferences for processing an electronic document, and by automatically highlighting one or more portions of the document according to the user preferences. Highlighting includes any way to enhance or alter the appearance of text, including bold, italics, underlining, change in font style, change in font size, change in color, change in background color, etc. The automatic highlighting of portions of the document attract the user's eyes to that portion of the document, which helps the user to discern whether or not the highlighted portion is relevant or interesting. The preferred embodiments also include a document generator that takes an input document and generates therefrom an output document that has one or more highlighted portions that are hard-coded into the document according to the user preferences.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to task bar management and provide a method, system and computer program product for graphical association of task bar entries. In one embodiment of the invention, a method for graphically associating a window with a task bar entry in a windowing operating system GUI can be provided. The method can include rendering multiple windows in a z-space sequence in a desktop of the windowing operating system graphical user interface and detecting a proximity event for an entry in a task bar for the windowing operating system graphical user interface. In response to detecting the proximity event, a corresponding one of the windows in the desktop can be highlighted without re-ordering the z-space sequence.

The method further includes capturing information, by the browser module, from at least one of the number of web pages based on the profile and sending the information captured by the browser module to a destination application, where the destination application is external to the browser and where the destination application is configured to use the information in a second format.

Abstract: A method for organizing, visualizing, and navigating data objects within a dataset is presented, including network visualization alongside a detailed information display. The method includes interactivity with the visualization through network panning, zooming, and node clicking. The network nodes represent the data objects. Node proximity and links represent similarity or other relatedness measures between respective data objects. The network can be displayed in full to illustrate large scale properties. Clicking the nodes provides further data object information of the highlighted node, which is displayed alongside the network.
