Abstract: Technologies related to application program data processing are disclosed. In one implementation, a first operation is detected on a mobile computing device. A manipulation mode of one or more mobile applications (APPs) is initiated in response to the first operation. A second operation is detected for selecting at least one of the one or more APPs performed on the mobile computing device. A manipulation of the at least one of the one or more APPs is initiated in response to the second operation if a predetermined condition associated with the second operation is met. An animation is performed on one or more APP icons corresponding to the at least one of the one or more APPs to show a status of the manipulation of the at least one of the one or more APPs.

Abstract: An ultrasound diagnosis apparatus generates an ultrasound image based on a reception signal obtained by an ultrasound probe to display the ultrasound image in a display, the reception signal being of ultrasound transmitted from the ultrasound probe toward an inside of a subject and reflected at the inside of the subject. The apparatus includes: an image display controller that causes the display to display at least one operable image indicating a target of a contact operation in a touch panel provided so as to overlaid on a screen of the display; and a processor that carries out predetermined processing corresponding to the operable image as the target of the contact operation in response to the contact operation in the touch panel. The processor skips the predetermined processing corresponding to a predetermined operable image among the operable image if a predetermined operation limit condition is satisfied.

Abstract: In one embodiment, techniques are used to create a customized 3-D menu for controlling an application (e.g., a CAD application) leveraging the application's native storage format to describe the menu's appearance and function. The menu is defined using elements of a model to which commands are associated within the storage format. The elements, upon later display, operate as menu items, whose selection activates the associated command. The application's (e.g., the CAD application's) visualization capabilities may be used to rotate, zoom, or otherwise manipulated the model in in 3-D space to create a desired appearance. A view of the model is then stored within the storage format to defined an initial appearance of the 3-D menu. Upon later display, the view of the 3-D menu is loaded to provide the defined initial appearance.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to user interfaces for receiving user input. In some examples, a device determines which user input technique a user has accessed most recently, and displays the corresponding user interface. In some examples, a device scrolls through a set of information on the display. When a threshold criteria is satisfied, the device displays an index object fully or partially overlaying the set of information. In some examples, a device displays an emoji graphical object, which is visually manipulated based on user input. The emoji graphical object is transmitted to a recipient. In some examples, a device displays paging affordances that enlarge and allow a user to select a particular page of a user interface. In some examples, the device displays user interfaces for various input methods, including multiple emoji graphical objects. In some examples, a keyboard is displays for receiving user input.

Abstract: State-specific mouse-over guidance can be provided to a user of a user interface such that a field in the user interface can include more than one mouse-over guidance content item, and a specific mouse-over guidance content item provided to the user is determined based on a current state of the field and at least one underlying factors identified as resulting in the current state.

Abstract: In some implementations, text is extracted from a digital work and proper nouns are identified in the text to generate a list of names. The list of names may be sorted so that names containing more information are positioned toward the beginning of the list. The list may be traversed to cluster names and alternate names into name sets that correspond to particular entities in the digital work. Non-unique names that appear in more than one name set may be disambiguated based on proximity to unique names in the same name sets to determine which occurrences of the non-unique names belong with which name sets. Furthermore, a representative name may be selected from among multiple names in a name set for use in representing an entity or object corresponding to the name set. In some examples, the representative name may be selected based on a fullness of the name.

Abstract: In some implementations, text is extracted from a digital work and a plurality of noun phrases are identified. The noun phrases are checked against a network accessible resource, such as an online encyclopedia, that includes a plurality of interlinked article entries. The noun phrases that have corresponding entries in the network accessible resource are included in a set of candidate topics. The candidate topics are ranked based, at least in part, on the links to and from each of the entries corresponding to the candidate topics. Candidate topics below a ranking threshold are removed from the set of candidate topics. Further, term frequency information for each candidate topic in relation to the digital work is compared against term frequency information for the candidate topic in a large corpus of textual works to remove candidate topics within a frequency difference threshold.

Abstract: A user selection interface system comprises one or more rotatable selectors linked to selectable characteristics, and a display linked to the selectors, for display of an image that corresponds to the selected characteristics. The interface is typically linked to a database comprising stored images and other information which corresponds to the selectable characteristics, whereby an image that corresponds to an item which meets a selected characteristic is retrieved and displayed. Information other than the corresponding image may also be retrieved and displayed. In some embodiments, the stored images comprise a single image, which matches all the selected characteristics, or a composite image that is based upon stored images which correspond to different selected characteristics. In some embodiments, the user selection interface comprises a graphic user interface or a mechanical interface.

Abstract: Systems, graphical user interfaces and methods for upgrading from one or more digital media assets to a set of digital media assets over a network are described. A potential purchaser can be notified of available upgrade opportunities that are available for purchase. The potential purchaser can elect to pursue an upgrade opportunity so as to purchase a set of digital media assets. Upon upgrading to the set of digital media assets, the digital media assets within the set of digital media assets are made available to the purchaser. According to one aspect, a graphical user interface facilitates presenting and requesting upgrade opportunities. According to another aspect, equivalency rules and/or eligibility rules can be used to control which sets of digital media assets are available for upgrade by respective potential purchasers.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for displaying a filterable hierarchy includes: receiving, in an application, a user input that requests at least part of a hierarchy to be displayed; generating a request based on the user input, and forwarding the request to a server for performing a query on non-hierarchical information in a database; receiving, in the application, a response by the server to the request; identifying, in the response, at least one selectable node in the hierarchy and at least one non-selectable visible node in the hierarchy; and presenting, using the application, a view in which the selectable node and the non-selectable visible node are structured according to the hierarchy.

Abstract: A document machine may detect a request for provision of a document while that document is available for provisioning. The document machine may update a count of referrals to the document and, based on the count of referrals transgressing a threshold value, generate a substitute document based on the original document. This substitute document may then be provided in response to further requests for the original document after the original document is no longer available for provision. The updating of the count of referrals is based on the identifier of a network that referred a request detected while the first document was still available for provision. The document machine may then provide the substitute document in lieu of the original document in response to a further request for provision of the first document.

Abstract: Technologies are generally described for providing a scrollable context menu for interacting with content displayed on a user interface. The scrollable context menu may include a base set of commands available for execution on selected textual and other content. A user may scroll the menu to display a carousel of additional available options employing traditional input such as mouse and stylus input and employing touch and gesture based interaction. The scrollable context menu may present visual cues to indicate that additional options are available. Each command in the base set of commands displayed on the scrollable context menu may be a command commonly used by a user and associated with a user profile unique to the user. The user profile may be saved such that commonly used commands may be preserved and displayed each time the scrollable context menu is presented to the user from any application or device.

Abstract: A VCI (visual context indicator) color is assigned deterministically and proactively at runtime to user data contexts, and is not stored in the database, spreadsheet, or other context. VCI colors can be high contrast friendly colors. The same color is assigned to a given context each time the application runs unless the context's identifying property has changed. Color assignments are not made by users or by the application's designer, but are done instead by hashing from a context's identifying property into a VCI color palette containing, e.g., eight to sixteen colors. Unlike text-selection coloring, VCI coloring is based on the user data context's identifying property. The color assignment visually indicates context by displaying the context's name in the VCI color, or by displaying a graphical element in the VCI color near the context name. VCI color assignment also shows the occurrence and result of changes in user data context.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for reducing a user's operation procedures in a pop-up menu and for effectively locating the user's desired processing. Abstract: Methods and systems for providing navigation assistance on a mobile device are provided. A method may include analyzing handwriting data to recognize one or more objects depicted in the handwriting data. The method may further include determining if one or more applications are associated with the handwriting data based on the one or more objects recognized in the handwriting data. If one application is determined to be associated with the handwriting data, the one application may be launched. If two or more applications are determined to be associated with the handwriting data, information allowing a user to select an application to launch from the two or more applications may be displayed.

Abstract: In general, the invention relates to a method for capturing information from a web site. The method includes accessing the web site using a browser with a browser module, where the web site comprises a number of web pages having information in a first format, and obtaining a profile corresponding to the web site, where the profile defines a manner to capture information in a first format from the web site. The method further includes capturing information, by the browser module, from at least one of the number of web pages based on the profile and sending the information captured by the browser module to a destination application, where the destination application is external to the browser and where the destination application is configured to use the information in a second format.

In one aspect, a first set of media item images is displayed in a first region of a display screen. The media item images are moved about a predetermined path within the first region in response to a received input. At least one of the media item images in the second set of media item images displayed in the second region is different from the indicated media item image.

Abstract: A time dimension management system is provided for managing time dimension of a data analyzing system for analyzing data stored in a data store based on a time data structure. The time dimension management system comprises a date selector controller and a calendar coordinator. The date selector controller is provided for controlling a date selector that presents to a user a standard calendar and a business calendar. The date selector controller has a standard calendar manager for managing presentation of the standard calendar for allowing the user to select a date on the standard calendar, and a business calendar manager for managing presentation of the business calendar to represent the time data structure that the data analyzing system uses, and allowing the user to select a date on the business calendar. These results can be presented in either a cluster or histogram format, or both. This allows the user to visualize the results graphically, rather than just displaying a list of the items found. In addition the presentation of the search results can be graphically manipulated to easily filter the results as desired by the user.
