Abstract: A method for processing information fed by a user via an inputting means is provided. The method enables, firstly, receiving a set of directional elements via a user interface. The set of directional elements represent textual or non-textual information fed by the user. Secondly, the method enables interpreting the set of directional elements. The set of directional elements are identified as a combination of motion of the inputting means on the user interface and one or more inputs from the inputting means. Further, the method enables converting the directional elements into a sequence and translating the sequence into the textual or non-textual information using a mapping format. The mapping format corresponds to a predetermined mapping format or a new mapping format. Finally, the method enables rendering the textual or non-textual information on the user interface in the form of one or more symbols.

The method comprises receiving, by the video playback system, the video from a tangible storage medium. The method further comprises reading metadata associated with the video, selecting a frame from the video, providing a user interface with a map, displaying a default location of the selected frame on the map according to the metadata, receiving geotagging data via the user interface, and associating the geotagging data with the selected frame of the video to generate a geo-based timeline.

The input device further preferably includes a plurality of input switches, wherein said input switches are adjacent each of the at least two opposing sides of the plurality of sides of the tablet computer, and a bridge structure disposed between the pair of sides to form a three sided structure. The graphical object includes instances of the example icon respectively modified based upon the data for the selected value attribute from the dataset. The graphical object can be caused to be displayed on the display screen. Abstract: A system and method are provided for dynamically generating a query using touch gestures. A virtual magnet is movable on a display device of a tactile user interface in response to touch. A user selects one of a set of text documents for review, which is displayed on the display. The system is configured for recognizing a highlighting gesture on the tactile user interface over the displayed document as a selection of a text fragment from the document text. The virtual magnet is populated with a query which is based on the text fragment selected with the highlighting gesture. The populated magnet is able to cause a subset of displayed graphic objects to exhibit a response to the magnet as a function of the query and the text content of the respective documents which the objects represent and/or to cause responsive instances in a text document to be displayed.

The user's actions or manipulations of objects may result in an action by the objects or may have no effect. Depending on the compatibility of objects, the objects may be neutral towards one another, may attract each other, or may repel. The objects that attract may share content or communicate with each other via a one-time interaction, or may establish links or connections with each other that enable longer term communication or broadcasts that occur upon pre-determined triggers.

Abstract: An application status system is described herein that informs the user about application-specific status updates and notifications through a changing status icon associated with an application-switching user interface displayed by an operating system when the application is running. When an application has focus, there is typically no way for another application to display status to the user without displaying a dialog box or a notification balloon that interrupts the user. The application status system takes advantage of the existing application-switching user interface to display a lightweight status icon overlay on the application-switching user interface itself. Thus, the application status system allows applications to provide application-specific status updates without interrupting a user's activity in another application and without adding additional UI for a user to process.

Abstract: A dynamically created and automatically updated personalized cloud of mobile tasks may be displayed on an interactive visual display via a personalized cloud generator application. The personalized cloud generator application may receive and/or capture information representing a mobile task performed by a mobile computing device user. The personalized cloud generator application may then store the information and determine a relevance of a given performed mobile task. If the relevance of the performed mobile task meets a prescribed threshold, the personal cloud generator application may display a selectable visual representation (e.g., selectable icon) of the performed mobile task. Given a user's activity, the visual representation may be automatically updated (displayed, removed, moved, resized, etc.) based on the information received and/or captured.
