  • Patent number: 10351456
Abstract: A method of treating sour water from industrial processes such as coal gasification. The method includes injecting a polysulfide into a sour water stream to convert cyanide to thiocyanate, thereby reducing the corrosiveness and toxicity of the sour water stream. The method also includes the step of mixing the sour water stream with a reactant to remove CO2 in its various forms in a reaction tank and subsequently routing the stream to a solid settler. The method further includes adjusting the pH of the sour stream in a pH correction tank before sending the sour water stream through a stream stripper for H2S and/or NH3 removal. After passing through the stripper, the treated sour water stream is sent to a biological treatment process for thiocyanate and formate removal. Subsequent treatment steps can be applied, such as multi-grade filters and activated carbon filters, to prepare the treated sour water for reuse.

Abstract: A metal blank that includes a binder trim component having at least one cut edge with a non-linear section. The creation of the non-linear section simultaneously forms a corresponding section in a binder trim component of an adjacent metal blank so that binder material can be shared therebetween. Abstract: A metallic plate member having at least one through hole to be a part a common liquid reservoir of a liquid ejection head is provided. In a first die, a plurality of first projections are arrayed in a first direction with a fixed pitch. Each of the first projections is elongated in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The plate member is mounted on a second die, and a regulating member is inserted into the through hole. The first projections are pressed against a first region in a first face of the plate member which is adjacent to the through hole in the second direction, so as to generate a plastic flow of a material in the plate member into gaps defined between the first projections, while the plastic flow is regulated by the regulating member. A plurality of recesses formed by the first projections and a plurality of partition walls formed by the material flown into the gaps constitutes a part of the pressure generating chambers.

  • Patent number: 6948350
Abstract: A ring-shaped core metal is pressed and compressed by a main punch and a counter punch so as to have a wave shape. Moreover, each group of three micro-protrusions provided on each of top points of the wave shape are cut in the core metal. Then, three notches are cut on the core metal corresponding to the micro-protrusions. Furthermore, plastic flow is generated at a surface layer of the core metal due to partial compression by the notches at the time of pressing and compressing. Then, the waves are formed on the core metal with the notches as the top points. The notches are cut at seven sections respectively on a front surface and a rear surface of the core metal. Thus, seven waves are formed on the core metal in total. Since the notches are formed on the front and the rear surfaces of the waves, a “return” phenomenon is not generated as seen in a conventional cool working method. Thus, the waves are formed at high accuracy.
