  • Patent number: 8935947
Abstract: According to the present invention, an apparatus for manufacturing necking cans processes inlets of cans for which drawing processes are completed, wherein the apparatus comprises: a lower press plate; an upper press plate arranged so as to move linearly in the upward and downward directions relative to the lower press plate; a molding unit including a guide formed on the lower press plate, a plurality of holders arranged on the guide such that the holders can be transferred, and a plurality of molds arranged on the upper press plate; transferring means for transferring the holders along the guide; and driving means for driving the upper press plate. The apparatus of the present invention is advantageous in that cans for which the drawing processes are completed are linearly transferred by a plurality of cylinders and processed at a high speed.

  • Patent number: 8245554
Abstract: A mechanical arrangement for processing sheet metal includes a sheet metal processing device, a transport device configured to position a sheet metal workpiece relative to the sheet metal processing device, the transport device including at least one workpiece carrier that is movable along a transport path that extends along a first transport line and a second transport line, and at least two X-guides and at least two Y-guides, the X-guides arranged parallel with the first transport line and the Y-guides arranged parallel with the second transport line. The at least two X-guides and the at least two Y-guides are configured to be coupled to each other by a transfer device to form a transport course, the workpiece carrier circulates along the X-guides and the Y-guides, and the transfer device is configured to move the workpiece carrier from one of the X-guides to one of the Y-guides.

  • Patent number: 7222416
Abstract: A first hemming mold unit (20) and a second hemming mold unit (30), are installed in a single pressing machine. The first hemming mold unit (20) performs partial bending of an edge (95) of a workpiece (93; 96). The workpiece (93; 96), having undergone the partial bending, is transferred to the second hemming mold unit (30), the second hemming mold unit (30) performs remaining necessary bending of the edge of the workpiece (93; 96). Here, predetermined bending of the edge (95) of the workpiece (93; 96) can be completed within the single pressing machine only by downward movement of upper molds (24, 34) of the first and second hemming mold units (20, 30), without having to use a cam and cam driver.

  • Patent number: 6408670
Abstract: A carrierless progressive die system and method for improving part quality and reducing cost. A strip of sheet material advances between a plurality of die stations along a continuous planar surface of a die lifter and stripper pad combination formed or assembled as a single piece. The width of the sheet material is substantially the same as the width of a finished part and its outer edge portions are maintained structurally rigid during operations at the various die operations by providing centrally positioned lances between die stations and holes at the distal ends of the lances which prevent propagation of the lances during stretching and forming of the sheet material.
