  • Patent number: 8522679
Abstract: A press with gripper rails for grasping and relocating workpieces onto a work table, the gripper rails being movable in a horizontal plane and vertically by a transfer device. The gripper rails are connected to the respective parts of the transfer device by gripper rail couplings, a locking mechanism with a tie rod being provided, which locks or frees the gripper rail coupling. To actuate the locking mechanism, an actuating element is provided which displaces the tie rod between a holding position and a releasing position and which can be actuated by the gripper rail coupling being lowered or raised. Furthermore, the locking mechanism has a spring element which holds the tie rod in the holding position. Finally, the locking mechanism has a latching mechanism with a detent, which fixes the tie rod in the releasing position and which is freed automatically when the gripper rail coupling is being coupled.

  • Patent number: 8113029
Abstract: The invention relates a drop forging method by means of a forging device provided with a hammer and a forging die, wherein a part placed in the forging die is shaped with a hammer blow, several engravings are formed in the die, a blank is initially inserted into the first engraving and said blank is moved along the other engravings to the last engraving, and then said blank picked up during shaping by a forging gripper. In order to obtain an optimum operating mode, the invention is characterized in that the part is received in a plurality of engravings with each hammer blow. In order to obtain a symmetrical distribution of the hammer load between occupied and non-occupied engravings, the parts are gripped respectively during shaping by the forging grippers.

  • Patent number: 7128195
Abstract: A transfer system for transferring workpieces between successive die stations in a stamping press employing elongate bars with workpiece grippers mounted thereon. Two elongate support beams are mounted on vertical primary supports on opposite sides of the press. Two mounting heads are mounted on each beam and are horizontally movable thereon. Each head is independently movable and is connectible by one elongate bar to either the mounting head on the same beam or to an opposing mounting head mounted on the other beam, the choice dependent on the workpiece flow direction.

  • Patent number: 6658913
Abstract: In a multistage forming machine, an apron is screwed to a press slide. At its upper end, the apron has six elongated clamping cams, distributed over its width, while four upwardly projecting clamping lugs are fitted at is lower end. Suspended in the apron is a combined tool block with a wedge-shaped supporting plate. Four clamping lugs, distributed over the width, are formed at the upper end of the supporting plate, while four clamping cams are formed at the lower end. The clamping lugs of the combined tool block are suspended by means of the clamping cams of the apron, while the clamping cams of the combined tool block are inserted between the clamping lugs and the main part of the apron. By means of two clamping devices, a clamping force acting in the vertical direction of the combined tool block is produced, bringing about a clamping of the combine tool block and the press slide in the horizontal direction.
