  • Patent number: 8286461
Abstract: The invention relates to a pair of hand-operated pliers (1), in particular pressing pliers, with jaws (6, 7) and hand levers (4, 5), wherein the jaws (6, 7) are pivotable around a preferably common rotational axis (x). Furthermore, one hand lever (5) is connected by a joint to one of the jaws (7), and a pressure support is located between the hand levers (4, 5) for the formation of a toggle (K). In order to further improve a tool of this type, particularly with respect to the design of the pressure support, it is proposed that the pressure support consist of a support roller (18) arranged on one hand lever (4), and of a curved section (19) which is attached to the other hand lever (5) and which works together with the support roller (18).

  • Patent number: 8161789
Abstract: The present invention relates to crimping pliers for crimping a work piece. The crimping pliers comprise two hand levers. The hand levers are linked with tools or dies for applying a crimping movement upon the work piece. The dies are housed in a head of the crimping pliers. A locator has a pivoting degree of freedom with respect to the head around a pivoting axis which has an orientation parallel to a main extensional plane of said head and transverse to the degree of freedom of the dies during the crimping process. The locator comprises an activating element with an extension being designed and arranged such that said extension is located in the access area of a finger of a hand of a user of said pliers gripping or contacting the hand levers.

  • Patent number: 7886570
Abstract: A hand tool comprising first and second jaw members and first and second handle members, the first handle and both jaw members being cooperatively connected by a force multiplying linkage system. A force applied to the first handle drives the linkage system to close the jaws to crimp or cut a work piece. In one embodiment of the invention, a link in the linkage system has a first end movable between first and second positions relative to its first end pivot pin wherein the first and second jaw members close a first distance when the link first end is in the first position and close a second distance when the link first end is in the second position. Other embodiments comprise other step-wise changes in distance between force-bearing pivot locations in the linkage system to close the jaws progressive distances with successive closures of the first and second handles.

  • Patent number: 7823433
Abstract: A ratchet crimping tool is disclosed. The ratchet crimping tool comprises a tool head cover board structure, a tool handle structure, a transmission device, and a tool handle. The transmission device further comprises an anti-backup mechanism, an advancement mechanism and a gear structure. The ratchet crimping tool uses a coaxial tool head, a confirming-indicating device and an adjustable jaw structure. The coaxial tool head comprises a movable tool handle and a fixed tool handle. A gear of the movable tool head is engaged with the gear structure of the transmission device, and the adjustable jaw structure is connected with the movable tool handle. The confirming-indicating device is connected with the movable tool handle and the fixed tool handle respectively. The coaxial tool head is connected with a tool head cover board structure by link pins, and the gear structure of the transmission device is connected with the movable tool handle by connecting pins via upper and lower cover boards.

  • Patent number: 7251980
Abstract: A hydraulic operated tool includes a body (B), a pair of jaws (21) mounted with respect to the body so that at least one of the jaws is movable between an opened jaw position and a closed jaw position so as to engage workpiece (W) between the jaws. A ram assembly (2) is disposed in the body and is operatively associated with the jaws. Spring structure (1) causes the ram assembly to move thereby causing the jaws to initially engage the workpiece with a first force. A pump assembly (7) exerts fluid on the ram assembly to move the ram assembly further, causing the jaws to exert a second force, greater than the first force, on the workpiece.
