  • Patent number: 8567034
Abstract: The invention relates to a compression tool (2) for the permanent connection of workpieces (14, 16, 18, 30, 34) having two pivot elements (4), which each have a compression jaw (10), and having at least one rotational axis (6), on which the pivot elements (4) are hinged, wherein the inner contours of the opposing compression jaws (10) form a receiving area (12). The present invention is based on the technical problem of disclosing an alternative compression tool (2), with which a permanent connection can be provided between workpieces (14, 16, 18, 30, 34) by axial compression. The technical problem is solved in that the inner contours have at least one sliding face (22), which is inclined relative to the receiving area axis (20). A compression tool (2) can thus be provided which, starting from a radial inward movement, performs a compression in the axial direction, nonetheless requires little installation space, and offers weight advantages due to a smaller axial extension, for example.

The clamping pincer has a T-shaped mounting which, with a retaining bolt and a retaining bolt receiver, is connected to a fork-like receiver. In the fork-like receiver, a roller holder with two rollers is located. The fork-like receiver is part of the piston-cylinder unit. On actuation of the pressing tool, the piston-cylinder unit is pulled back and thus the roller holder with the rollers is moved forward relative thereto in an axial direction towards the clamping pincer. Thus, the rollers roll on roll flanks of the clamping jaws of the clamping pincer. The clamping pincer is pressed together by the rollers pressing apart the clamping jaws at the rear. Thus, the rollers are supported on a bearing block with sliding bearing surfaces.

Dies move radially toward the coupling on jaws of a crimping tool and engage the conical surface along a single line of contact to effect a crimp which secures the coupling to the pipe. The seal is deformed between the coupling and the pipe to effect a fluid tight joint. The coupling may have a circumferential rib which projects radially outwardly. • Patent number: 6722174
Abstract: According to an apparatus and a method for manufacturing a hot-rolled steel plate, a roughing process for reducing a thickness of a continuously cast slab is performed to obtain a sheet bar, and a finishing rolling process for rolling the sheet bar is effected to produce a hot-rolled steel plate having a predetermined plate thickness. After cooling down, the hot-rolled steel plate is then wound. A pair of dies 6 each of which has a tapered portion 6b on an input side and a parallel portion 6b on an output side are used in at least part of the roughing process. Further, before performing plate thickness pressing to a material in a plate thickness direction by using the dies 6, at least one of a front end and a rear end of the material is pressed in a widthwise direction to be pre-formed.

  • Publication number: 20030167819
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of an annular article, which substantially consists of metal, ceramic material, and/or polymer. A cavity in a die is filled with a formable working material, which shall form said article. A tubular, upper punch (17) is introduced into the upper mouth of a hole in a die (34), so that a closed mould cavity is formed. The upper punch and a lower punch (27) are simultaneously struck towards one another at such a high velocity that the working material is plasticized and flows out and fills the mould cavity, and thereafter the upper punch is removed. Then, a mandrel (35) in the lower punch is driven out of the annular body by means of a mandrel expulsor (170), which is pressed against the mandrel from above, and thereafter the annular body is from below pushed out of the die by mean of the lower punch. The invention also relates to an equipment for the carrying out of the method.
