Abstract: A method for aligning an armature shaft, wherein in a first step a concentricity error of the armature shaft is determined in the region of the shaft portion by measuring a radial deflection of the armature shaft, and wherein in a second step the radial deflection of the armature shaft is reduced by local deformation of the shaft portion on the side of the bearing element remote from the laminated portion.

Abstract: A press machine controller (10) for controlling a press machine (30) having a servo motor (41) to drive a slide (38) via a reduction mechanism (37) changed in reduction ratio in accordance with the position of the slide (38) is disclosed. The device includes a command generator (20) for generating at least one of a position command, a speed command and a torque command for the servo motor (41); a vibration command generator (13) for generating a vibration command based on a parameter preset for the press machine controller (10); a slide position detector (12) for detecting the position of the slide (38); and a vibration command adding portion (21, 22, 23) for adding the vibration command to any one of the position command, the speed command and the torque command for the servo motor (41) in the case where the slide position is in a predetermined range. The press machine, even if stopped with the slide at the bottom dead center, can be restarted with a small torque.
Abstract: In conventional ram-driven presses, the downward stroke of the ram into a tool causes acceleration of the tool, thereby facilitating an operation on a workpiece by the tip of the tool. While the ram stroke is found to impart sufficient dynamic energy to the tool to facilitate the necessitated operation by the tool tip, there are other more efficient, and in turn, more effective, means and methods of actuating the tool tip, with such means and methods being facilitated from energy derived from the tool's acceleration or from energy from other external sources.
Abstract: In a press installation including a number of presses with servo-drives for operating the presses and auxiliary equipment such as workpiece handling devices wherein an energy management system is provided including a DC voltage intermediate circuit connected to a power supply grid via an AC/DC converter and to the servo-drives via servo-converters, a fly-wheel storage device is connected to the intermediate circuit for supplying energy thereto and recapturing energy therefrom under the control of a control arrangement which controls the flow of power between the intermediate circuit, the servo-drives, the fly-wheel storage device and the power supply grid.
Abstract: The invention relates to a marking machine for metallurgical products, more particularly continuous cast products, comprising at least one marking stamp and a striking device for striking the marking stamp into the product to be marked. The striking device is provided with a striking bolt and a striker spring driving said bolt. The striking bolt strikes the marking stamp that is placed in striking position by actuating the striker spring with an actuation element that is driven by an electric motor, thereby hammering the marking stamp into the product to be marked. Every time the marking stamp is subjected to the action of the spring, the stamp receives an evenly high kinetic energy thereby causing an evenly high striking depth of the marking. The spring in association with the electric motor drive enables fast, precise and easily controllable execution of the individual working steps of the machine. The ensures a high marking repetition rate.
Abstract: A hand-held tool for forming a rivet head at the plain end of a rivet includes an elongated handle having an elongated internal cavity with a guide wall surface extending to an adjacent guide wall surface in an insert having an end wall. The end wall is provided with a predetermined thickness and contains an aperture to house a shop head formed on the plain head of a rivet. An inertia block is slidably guided by the guide wall surfaces of the handle and insert for reciprocation between a displaced position remote from the end wall and a position for contact with the end wall. A spring located in the elongated handle urges the inertia block against an end of a rivet when protruding from the aperture in the end wall and arrests recoiling movement of the inertia block after impact with a rivet end in a direction away from the end wall.
Abstract: To drive two toggle lever (29,29') of a press, in particular a high frequency cutting press with at least 400 strokes per minute, two separate but mutually synchronized drives (101,101') are provided to ensure a uniform, non-wobbling motion of the tool carrier (5). The drives (101, 101') can be rotary or linear drives and are used to drive the toggle levers (29, 29') during at least part of their motion. The energy storage (200) ensures a low energy consumption, since it stores the braking energy and supplies it again to the drive during acceleration.
Abstract: A press and press method wherein an article is shaped by displacing a tool thereagainst in a plurality of time-spaced main strokes separated by intervals in which the energy for the main strokes is stored in a force-storing element such as a rod under tension and during these intervals, the tool continues to be advanced against the article by an auxiliary motor. The apparatus utilizes a lever pivotally connected to a support, to the force-storing element and to the tool. The main drive motor acts on this lever.

Abstract: A power press in which low inertia motors with speed control circuitry are connected to a cam which acts upon a lever or cam follower which, in turn, cooperates with a force-storing element which has a spring action and is coupled, e.g. by the same lever, to the tool of the press. Accordingly, in the rotation of the cam, the force-storing means stores potential energy which is transformed into kinetic energy of the ram in another region of the cam at which part of the energy can be delivered to the low inertia motors. Hence the speed control of the motor will, in part, regulate the rate at which the stored force is delivered to the workpiece.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for the surface working and for reworking, or reshaping, of elongated workpieces. A strike bolt strikes the inner side of the curvature of the workpiece at high frequency to apply a plurality of strikes to the workpiece. Measurement of the straightening of the curved workpiece occurs directly on the worktable, preferably by means of air-jet nozzles, which are connected to indicating tubes.
Abstract: Apparatus for producing an instantaneous pressure on a workpiece includes a working piston, one side of which is impinged by gas under pressure tending to move the working piston from a starting position in a direction towards the workpiece, whereas the other side of the working piston is over a control valve impingable by a pressure fluid, preferably a hydraulic fluid, whereby the working piston is returnable to the starting position.
