Abstract: An apparatus comprises working tools -- a hammer and an anvil. A concentrator of ultrasonic oscillations is in an intimate contact with the hammer, and the anvil is mounted on an end face of a metal rod of a length which is multiple to one quarter of ultrasonic wavelength. The rod is vertically adjustable relative to the hammer.

  • Patent number: 4037458
Abstract: This invention provides a method and device for eliminating vibration and for silencing noise caused during operation of a crank-driven press tool. A brake operates on the crank shaft of the press tool from just before to just after the termination of the press stroke, thereby preventing the kinetic energy of the mechanical components and metal mold from being reduced instantaneously to zero and thus preventing the generation of vibration and noise usually occurring during press work in a crank-driven press tool.

  • Patent number: 4022052
Abstract: A stamping press with an augmented power stroke has a support with a guide portion in which is slidably seated a ram having an elongated passage therein parallel to the axis of movement thereof and a head portion at one end for mounting tooling thereon. A plurality of pulley members are spaced equiangularly about and secured to the other end of the ram with the rotational axes thereof being perpendicular to the axis of movement of the ram. A piston is slidably seated in the passage in the ram and is driven in reciprocating movement by an air cylinder operatively connected to the end thereof adjacent the pulley members. Chain members equal in number to the pulley members are connected at one end to the aforementioned end of the piston and at the other end to the support at a point spaced axially of the ram from the pulley members toward the head portion thereof, each chain member extending intermediate its length about one of the pulley members.

  • Patent number: 3990285
Abstract: Different surfaces of articles are shaped by means of a shaping tool. The active surface of the shaping tool is rolled reversibly along the shaped surface with a point contact in the axial plane of the shaped surface, such axial plane turning around the axis of the shaped surface, the amplitude of this reversible relative rolling being selected arbitrarily.

  • Patent number: 3983738
Abstract: The invention is intended for crank presses. The drive according to the invention, comprises a first flywheel installed on a crankshaft connected to a slide block and a second flywheel connected to the crankshaft by means of a clutch. The first flywheel is rotated by means of a motor. Gyratory mass of the flywheel is selected to be such that kinetic energy of the flywheel accumulated by it in the course of its acceleration would be fully spent by it in carrying out the technological operation and in returning the slide block to the initial position. The driving motor may be represented by one or several synchronously operating hydraulic motors or electric motors disposed over a circumference concentric with the flywheel and connected to the latter by means of gear trains of similar gear ratio.
