  • Patent number: 8061179
Abstract: A high pressure pump includes a pump housing. A piston rod located within the pump housing defines a plurality of pump cavities and a plurality of piston cavities. Movement of the piston within the piston cylinder pumps the fluid from the piston cavities out of the high pressure pump. The continuous pumping of HWBF from the pump housing provides fluid at a relatively constant flow and pressure. The HWBF pressure is also at a higher pressure than traditional single stage high pressure pumps can provide.

  • Patent number: 7921689
Abstract: An improved method and apparatus are provided for constructing and operating a linear actuator, and equipment incorporating a linear actuator, by operatively connecting a pressure biasing pneumatic arrangement between the driving member and the driven member of a mechanical linear actuator for applying a unidirectional biasing force between the driving and driven members, along an axis of motion, regardless of the location or movement of the driving and driven elements with respect to one another along the axis of motion. The pneumatic biasing arrangement is also configured, connected and operated to reduce the force which must be exerted by the driving and driven members in extending and retracting the linear actuator. The pneumatic biasing arrangement may further be configured for preferentially aiding extension or retraction of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 7143617
Abstract: A press forming machines includes displacement measuring means for measuring a displacement between a slide plate and a reference plate. Control means measures a positional displacement of each of the driving sources by using the displacement measuring means in each of a plurality of operating steps during the molding operation, detects a desired displacement position of the entire slide plate, extracts control data including a correction amount to maintain the entire slide plate at the desired displacement position, the correction amount corresponding to a change in load on each of the driving sources, stores the control data in the memory, supplies the control data to the driving sources, and separately drives the driving sources. Since an actual molding operation can be performed using control data generated in a trial molding operation, the cycle time of the actual molding can be shortened.

  • Patent number: 7007529
Abstract: A press forming machine having a slide plate which reciprocates by driving sources between a lower support stand and an upper support plate and has a forming space between the lower support stand and the slide plate. In the press forming machine, a reference plate for a displacement reference for the slide plate is supported on the lower support stand. The driving sources are engaged with the slide plate by the drive shafts of the driving sources to drive and press the slide plate. The drive shaft is provided with a through hole axially extending in a shaft center thereof, and displacement measuring devices each for each of the drive shafts measures the displacement of the slide plate portion corresponding to the through hole with respect to the reference plate, through the through hole. As a result, the displacements at the pressurized points on the slide plate can be measured.

  • Patent number: 6240758
Abstract: A hydraulic machine for operation such as for pressurizing a workpiece and molding products from materials by using a reciprocation mechanism comprising a hydraulic cylinder unit. The cylinder unit comprises two types cylinder chambers having different cross-sectional areas, and a third or plural cylinder chambers. Hydraulic oil sent out from a hydraulic pump driven by a servo motor, is fed through a hydraulic circuit into the cylinder unit. The shifting position of the reciprocation movement is detected, and path switching in the hydraulic circuit and revolving operation of the servo motor are controlled on the basis of the detected shifting position. In case the reciprocation movement is used for pressurizing a workpiece by a die, the hydraulic oil is fed to the cylinder chamber for forward of small cross-sectional area until slightly before the die comes into contact against the workpiece, and the die shifts at high speed relative to a workpiece.
