The holder has a body with walls defining a downwardly open, tool receiving recess having a top, a downwardly facing force-delivering shoulder adjacent the bottom of said recess, and a shelf within said recess having an upwardly facing surface spaced upwardly from said force-delivering shoulder. The tool comprises a body having a lower work-engaging surface, an upwardly facing force-receiving shoulder engageable with the shoulder of the tool holder, and an upwardly extending tang receivable in said recess, the upper end of the tang being spaced from the top of the recess. A manually operable actuator is spaced below said force-receiving shoulder, and a safety key is coupled to the actuator for movement horizontally into and out of alignment with the shelf between locked and unlocked positions, respectively.

  • Patent number: 6389863
Abstract: A stripper assembly used in combination with a metal-extrusion press having a die with a back face on which residue is formed during an extrusion operation, has a blade carrier movable generally parallel to the die back face, a blade pivotal on the carrier and having an edge engageable with the die back face, and a biasing element braced between the blade and the carrier for urging the blade edge with a predetermined force transversely against the die back face. The biasing element is a pack of spring washers. The blade has a back stripper face and the carrier has a confronting front stripper face. One of the stripper faces is formed with a pocket open toward the other of the stripper faces and holding the biasing element. The stripper assembly further has a stop bolt threaded into the carrier, extending through the blade, and having a head engageable with a front face of the blade.

  • Patent number: 6334288
Abstract: In an apparatus mounted on an automatic machine for packaging articles into blister packs, a working station (A) applies numeric codes to a blister band and a scoring station (B) equipped with scoring members (20), traces scoring lines on the blister band. In a cropping station (C) the blister packs are separated from the blister band, and in a disposal station (D), the remaining off-cuts are chopped. All these working stations are connected to a support body (1) and provided with plates (5,125) acted upon by pressers (53,54,55) which are released by motorised releasing elements (60,80). The pressers and plates clamp each of the devices for numbering (10), cutting (20), and severing (30) the blister band. The releasing elements (60,80) act on the pressers to allow substitution and automatic adjustment, performed by an automatic adjustment system (110), of devices for numbering (10), cutting (20), and severing (30) the band in relation to the size of blister packs to be obtained.
