    Abstract: An apparatus for straightening metal strips, including a first, upper group and a second, lower group of straightening rollers arranged in each case immediately in succession in a strip running direction, and a group of individually controllable actuators arranged alongside one another in a transverse direction. An axial bending profile of at least a first of the straightening rollers is settable by the group of actuators. At least one second group of individually controllable actuators arranged alongside one another in the transverse direction is provided. An axial bending profile of the least a second of the straightening rollers, which is in particular different from the bending profile of the first bending roller, is settable by the second group of actuators.

    Abstract: A method for inspecting a strip in a reversible rolling plant comprising at least one cage arranged between two winding/unwinding devices each having a mandrel. The rolling is performed in several passes until the requested thickness is obtained over the whole length of a useful part ranging between two service lengths maintained wound on each of the mandrels. According to the invention, at the end of the last pass between a winder/unwinder placed upstream of the cage in the rolling direction and acting as an uncoiler, and a downstream winder/unwinder acting as a coiler, the upstream service length is unwound completely from the uncoiler, then subjected to a roll pass; the strip is then cut in the vicinity of the end of its useful part to release, at its rear end in the direction of the last pass, an inspection length whereof at least one part corresponds to said upstream service length rolled once.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for straightening a metal strip (1) which is guided in the direction of transportation (R) through a straightening machine (2) and is straightened. In the straightening device (2), the metal strip (1) is impinged upon by a straightening force (F) which is applied by a plurality of straightening rollers (3) in the direction (N) which is perpendicular to the surface of the metal strip (1). According to the invention, prior to the metal strip (1) entering into the straightening machine (2), the thickness (d) of the metal strip (1) is determined and the position (a) of the straightening rollers (3) in the direction (N) which is perpendicular to the surface of the metal strip (1) is taken into account according to the determined thickness (d).

    Abstract: The invention relates to a device and method for regulating the compressing of metal tubing (20) having inner-lying beam wave guides (8) by means of a roll straightening passage (10a, 10b) comprising a feeding device (36, 36′) of the rollers (12-16) with regard to the angle of wrap (A1, A2). The metal tubing (20) is unwound by a feed roller (11) in front of the roll straightening passage delivery roller (11′) after said roll straightening passage (10a, 10b). According to the invention, a measuring device (34) for determining the velocity (v1, v2) of the metal tubing (20) is arranged in front of and behind each roll straightening passage (10a, 10b). The measuring device (30) can determine the difference in velocity in front of and behind the roll straightening passage and the feeding device (36, 36′) can be adjusted independently of the difference in velocity.
