Abstract: A disk drive is described, having a draw-in device for disk-shaped storage media, which prevents damage to the playoff area of such storage media. The draw-in device includes a threaded rod having an axis of rotation in the push-in direction of the storage medium. The course of thread of threaded rod acts together with the edge region of a storage medium inserted into the draw-in device so that the storage medium is drawn into the disk drive or pushed out of the disk drive by the rotation of the threaded rod, depending on the direction of rotation.
Abstract: A CD player is equipped with a CD inserting mechanism without loading plate; the CD inserting mechanism is equipped with single transmission gear set to be simple in structure and have reduced numbers of parts; the transmission gear set consists of a rubber roller, a tremor gear, and is a support; a belt is connected to a motor and the transmitting gear set so that rotation of the motor can be passed on to the gear set; a compact disk will come into contact with the rubber roller to be conveyed towards inside of the CD player by means of the rubber roller after it is inserted into the inserting mechanism.
Abstract: A tray cover for retaining optical discs within an optical disc drive capable of being vertically oriented is comprised of a cover attachable to the tray of the optical disc drive. The cover forms a pocket against the tray for receiving the optical disc so that the optical disc is generally retained against the tray as the tray is extended and retracted.
