The at least one processor is configured to cause the UE to receive downlink control information comprising an indication to monitor a set of physical downlink control channel search spaces of a plurality of sets of physical downlink control channel search spaces; and monitor the set of physical downlink control channel search spaces for at least one physical downlink control channel.

Abstract: Methods and systems for managing entitlements for data processing systems are disclosed. A management controller for the data processing system may utilize an out of band communication channel to obtain a list of the entitlements for the data processing system from a management server. The management controller may compare the features included in the list of the entitlements to features included in a list of existing enabled features for the data processing system to obtain a difference. The management controller may modify operation of hardware components of the data processing system to resolve the difference. By doing so, the management controller may monitor entitlements for the data processing system, the entitlements being based on user subscriptions for features of the data processing system.

Abstract: A peak current detector is integrated into a power supply, such as a power management integrated circuit, to detect glitch attacks imposed on the power rails inside the power supply. Integrated circuitry being supplied by the power supply periodically checks the state of the power supply via a secure communication channel to obtain the detected peak current values, which allow the integrated circuitry to detect those attacks and react accordingly to any possible threats.

Abstract: Approaches for updating a firmware file in a network having multiple transceiver nodes and being capable of receiving and transmitting the firmware file include dividing the firmware file into multiple of chunks, each chunk being able to be included in a single data packet transmitted between two of the transceiver nodes; transmitting each of the chunks from the first one of the transceiver nodes to the second one of the transceiver nodes; transmitting a request message from the first one of the transceiver nodes to the second one of the transceiver nodes, the request message including information associated with the chunks that have been transmitted in step (b); and transmitting a responding message from the second one of the transceiver nodes to the first one of the transceiver nodes, the responding message including information associated with one or more chunks that are included in the request message but not received by the second one of the transceiver nodes.

Abstract: An example method for visual testing of programmed display of content includes obtaining a workflow of test scenarios for visual testing of a display controlled by a set-top box (STB) device. The method also includes obtaining images that capture content displayed on the display, feeding the images to a trained machine learning model to detect display elements, and performing visual testing based on the detected display elements in accordance with visual expectations specified by the test scenarios.

Abstract: A control device is used to autonomously program a remote control device based on media device information received from a media device. The control device selects a program code set based on the media device information. The control device transmits a program code set to the remote control device and a test command. The test command causes the remote control device to transmit a program code from the program code set based on the test command. The control device monitors the media device and verifies that the program code associated with the test command controlled the associated function of the media device.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards selecting and returning a user interface, such as of a streaming media service, that is based on a child user's age. As a child ages, the child receives a generally more sophisticated user interface, such that a younger child needs only simple interaction to select a desired (for example age-appropriate) content offering, while an older child can use more complex interaction to locate and select a desired content offering. Profile data associated with the user is sent with each request for content, including the request for a user interface, starting with a home page. The age of the user can be determined from the profile data with any request, whereby a user interface can appear to adapt based on user age over time. The profile data can be locked to a device to retain the profile data after a logoff/new login operation.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide systems and methods for sharing encoder output of video streams. In a particular embodiment, a method provides determining video profiles for each of a plurality of devices. The method further provides determining if two or more of the video profiles are similar by determining if parameters associated with each video profile differ by less than a threshold value. The method further provides transmitting a video stream encoded in a single format to the devices if they have similar profiles and transmitting video streams encoded in different formats to the devices if they do not have similar profiles.

Abstract: A method performed by one or more processors, and an apparatus is disclosed. The method may comprise identifying a request from a custom computer program within a sandbox to perform an operation not permitted within the sandbox, and receiving a first indication of security privileges associated with a provider of the custom computer program. Abstract: A television system with a network function is disclosed. The television system includes several client devices and a server device. The several client devices are configured to store and transmit the client information. The client information includes channel information and several positions of the several client devices. The server device is communicatively connected to the several client devices and is configured to receive the client information, to integrate the client information so as to generate integrated information, and to transmit the integrated information to the several client devices. The several client devices are further configured to confirm the several integrated information so as to update the several client information.

Abstract: Video content is uploaded via the Internet to a video-on-demand (VOD) server identified by a title and a hierarchical address of categories and subcategories for categorizing the title. The VOD server converts and stores the video content at a storage address in a video content database linked to the title. The title is listed in a location of an electronic program guide (EPG) using the same categories and subcategories as in its hierarchical address. Any TV subscriber can access the EPG and navigate through its categories and subcategories to find a title for viewing on the TV. This can enable many new blogging or podcasting-like programs by popular “Hosts” to be self-published on the Internet and readily navigated for display on TV. The EPG can also store TV program addresses as bookmarks and allow them to be shared with other subscribers or with friends and contacts online by sending to their email addresses.

Abstract: Systems and methods for addressing a corrupted segment in a media asset. The media guidance application determines that a segment of a media asset is corrupted. The media guidance application determines whether a retrieval period to retrieve an uncorrupted copy of the segment exceeds a threshold period. If the retrieval period does not exceed the threshold period, the media guidance application retrieves and generates for display the uncorrupted copy of the segment. If the retrieval period exceeds the threshold period, the media guidance application determines whether an importance level of the corrupted segment exceeds a threshold level. If the importance level exceeds the threshold level, the media guidance application generates for display a summary for the corrupted segment. If the importance level does not exceed the threshold level, the media guidance application generates for display the subsequent segment and the summary for the corrupted segment in an overlay.

Abstract: Systems, devices, media, instructions, and methods are provided for presentation of media collections with automated advertising. In one embodiment, display time data associated for a first plurality of content elements and a first advertising element as displayed on a first device are used in adjusting a presentation order for a second content collection comprising a second plurality of content elements and at least a second advertising element, where a placement of the second advertising element within the presentation order is based on the display time data. In some embodiments, a ratio of advertising to content elements is targeted over time for a user based on user interactions with various content and advertising elements.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method receives a first stream identifier for a video stream. The first stream identifier is received in a request from a client for the video stream. The method selects a virtual stream identifier for the first stream identifier where the virtual stream identifier is associated with a plurality of physical stream identifiers associated with a plurality of physical streams. A ranking of the plurality of physical stream identifiers is analyzed to select one of the physical stream identifiers. Then, the method outputs the one of the physical stream identifiers as the video stream to use in response to the request for the first stream identifier. The one of the physical stream identifiers is sent to the client to allow the client to request the respective physical stream.

Abstract: A content output device identifies a set of content including both high definition content and standard definition content. The content output device determines whether an associated presentation device is capable of presenting high definition content. The content output device then filters the set of content accordingly responsive to determining whether the presentation device is capable of presenting high definition content.

A download processing section downloads application software into an auxiliary storage apparatus. In some embodiments, capacity or bandwidth for each of the application data and the content asset data may be allocated in accordance with one or more profiles. In some embodiments, the binding may take place at a content provider location in accordance with early binding practices, at a central location in accordance with late binding practices, and/or at a user equipment device in accordance with user binding practices.

Abstract: Various arrangements for performing in-vehicle delivery of over-the-air (OTA) television channel broadcasts are presented. A vehicle antenna can be installed on a vehicle. An OTA television tuner that receives an OTA television channel broadcast and is electrically connected with the vehicle antenna may be present. A wireless network hotspot module can be installed in the vehicle and can receive the OTA television channel broadcast from the OTA television tuner. The OTA television channel may be packetized. The packetized OTA television channel can be broadcast via a wireless local area network (WLAN) to a mobile device located within the vehicle for presentation.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Some wireless communications systems may support a determination of user equipment (UE) capabilities, such as a category or a coverage level for broadcast or multicast content. In some cases, a radio interface may be configured to account for an indicated capability of a target UE. For example, a base station may receive an indication of a capability of a particular targeted UE. The capability of the targeted UE may be specified by a service provider to deliver multicast or broadcast content, and subsequently associated with a radio interface between the base station and the target UE. The radio interface may then be configured based on the indicated capability of the target UE, for example, by configuring a transport block size or bandwidth. The base station may then transmit broadcast or multicast content to the UE using the configured radio interface.

In order to transmit data from one receiver to another, the transmitting receiver device may establish a connection to an Internet Protocol (IP) network, contact a television provider server to obtain network addresses for one or more related receiver devices, and then transmit the data over the IP network to the related receiver devices. Additional aspects relate to identifying and sharing resources between associated television receivers operating at separate locations.

Each of the multiple experience modules includes a first component that includes code specific to a particular type of the device, and a second component that includes code that is common across multiple types of devices. Update packages changing individual ones of the multiple experience modules can be received from a deployment service and installed on the device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing a Transport I/O system are described. Network encrypted content may be received by a device. The device may provide the network encrypted content to a secure processor, such as, for example, a smart card. The secure processor obtains a network control word that may be used to decrypt the network encrypted content. The secure processor may decrypt the network encrypted content to produce clear content. In embodiments, the secure processor may then use a local control word to generate locally encrypted content specific to the device. The device may then receive the locally encrypted content from the secure processor and proceed to decrypt the locally encrypted content using a shared local encryption key. The secure processor may connect to the device via a standard connection, such as via a USB 3.0 connector.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to accessing configuration settings for a variety of different hardware or software components and to providing a common interface for accessing and presenting component configuration settings. In one scenario, a computer system receives a request to access configuration settings for hardware and/or software components. The request specifies at least one namespace for the corresponding hardware or software component. The computer system accesses a directory to determine which configuration settings are available for the specified namespace, and further accesses configuration metadata to determine where the configuration settings for the hardware or software components are stored and how the configuration settings are to be accessed.

Abstract: A media broker comprises a communication interface and a controller associated with the communication interface configured to divide at least one media item into a plurality of media item content layers, assign a priority to each of the plurality of media content item layers and direct one or more media storage devices to store the plurality of media content layers. The controller is configured to subsequently determine when space is needed. In response to determining that space is needed, at least one of the plurality of media content item layers is selected based upon the priority of the at least one of the plurality of media content item layers and deleted.

Abstract: A system and method for upgrading a remote control application resident on a device. Information identifying a controllable appliance is caused to be uploaded to a remote server device and the uploaded information is used to automatically display user-selectable, downloadable data files relevant to the control of the controllable appliance. Downloaded data files, which may include command codes and/or graphical user interface elements, may be used within the device to upgrade the ability of the remote control application to communicate with the controllable appliance. The information uploaded to the server may also be used to generate demographic data regarding consumer preferences.

Abstract: A method and system for providing a content notification for a set-top box is disclosed. An embodiment is disclosed that receives security information at a web portal and the security information has identification information for a user assigned to a set-top box, services a request to create a content notification preference for the set-top box at the web portal in response to successful entry of security information, determines media content received by the set-top box and the media content selected for display, determines the content notification preference associated with the set-top box, the content notification preference has a content notification rule to monitor media content received by the set-top box, and sends a content notification to a recipient based on the content notification preference.

An audio/visual connector is linked to the printed circuit board, wherein the audio/visual connector is adapted for connection to an audio/visual device, wherein the audio/visual connector is adapted to operate with a first audio/visual interface having sufficient power to fully operate the printed circuit board and a second audio/visual interface having insufficient power to fully operate the printed circuit board. Abstract: There is provided a system and method for dynamically transmitting a services list to a playback device. The system comprises a display device, a playback device, and a mediator server with a mediator application. The mediator application is configured to receive, from the playback device, a service request for a services list, to send a services list for presenting on a display device in response to receiving the service request, to receive an activation request for at a third-party service listed in the services list, and to activate the third-party service in response to receiving the activation request. By programming a digital video disc such as a Blu-ray disc according to an API and using such a mediator server, a dynamically adjustable list of third-party services may be supported and used by the playback device without changing the disc application code.
