  • Patent number: 10127907
Abstract: The present invention prevents a plurality of robots from outputting identical messages to a single user. The present invention includes a message determining section (83) that determines whether or not a message to be outputted from a robot (2) is identical to a first message to be outputted from a robot (1) or a second message which has been outputted from the robot (1). In a case where the message to be outputted from the robot (2) is identical to the first message or the second message, the message determining section (83) controls the robot (2) to (i) output a message different from the first message or the second message, or (ii) not to output any message.

Event attendees carry a wearable device configured to periodically transmit a payload that may, for example, include an identifier for the wearable device. The device's transmissions may be received by one or more receiver components located at the event venue. Each receiver component may have one or more associated content capture components configured to capture content (e.g., video, audio, text, etc.) relating to the event as it is ongoing. The location of each receiver component over time is known, and so receipt of transmissions from the wearable device by different receiver components over time indicates an approximate location of the attendee over time, and thus the vantage point(s) from which the attendee witnessed the event.

Each of a plurality of video files is divided into a first portion and a second portion and the size of each first portion is based on the available bandwidth measurement. The first portion of each of the plurality of video files is downloaded over the data connection and stored in a memory within the set top box. A list is displayed at a display device and includes a list of video titles that correspond to the plurality of video files that have only a first portion downloaded to the memory.

Abstract: When one program is selected from an EPG display screen, a flow goes to a screen prompting for selection of a program reservation method. When recording reservation is selected, the flow goes to a menu screen for selecting a recording reservation method. When video reservation is selected it is determined whether a video-linked recording setting completion flag is not yet set. If not yet set (YES), and when a video controller is not to be used, “the video controller is not to be used” is set for video-linked recording setting. Next, the video-linked recording setting completion flag is set to “already set”, and thereby, reservation registration can be continued. When reservation of a program selected from an EPG is selected, the program is video-reserved, and the flow returns to the EPG screen.

  • Patent number: 8831409
Abstract: Storage management technology, in which a system determines a first amount of storage space on a downloader device of a user that is available for download of new content made available on channels subscribed to by the user. The system also determines a second amount of storage space needed to download new content that has been made available on channels subscribed to by the user. The system further compares the second amount of storage space to the first amount of storage space and determines whether the second amount of storage space exceeds the first amount of storage space. Based on a determination that the second amount of storage space exceeds the first amount of storage space, the system controls downloading of the new content to the downloader device and deletion of previously-stored content on the downloader device based on a content allocation policy.
