The messaging application also displays a sponsored content item along with the threads, but displays the sponsored content item below threads having unread messages to avoid reducing engagement with threads the user is likely to select. In some embodiments, the messaging application predicts a probability that displaying the sponsored content item above a thread including an unread message thread will cause the user not to engage with the thread and displays the sponsored content item above the thread including the unread message if the predicted probability is below a threshold.

The second server receives consumer-specific content associated with the particular consumer from the third-party service, and maps the consumer-specific content to the media player based, at least in part, on the information linking the particular consumer to both the third-party service and to the media player. The second server then inserts the consumer-specific content into the media stream during a time period the second server is in control of inserting media content into the media stream.

Abstract: Techniques are described for machine learning-based generation of target segments is leveraged in a digital medium environment. A segment targeting system generates training data to train a machine learning model to predict strength of correlation between a set of users and a defined demographic. Further, a machine learning model is trained with visit statistics for the users to predict the likelihood that the users will visit a particular digital content platform. Those users with the highest predicted correlation with the defined demographic and the highest likelihood to visit the digital content platform can be selected and placed within a target segment, and digital content targeted to the defined demographic can be delivered to users in the target segment.

Abstract: Assets of broadcast network content are targeted to network users of interest based on location information regarding user equipment devices. Asset providers can specify location targeting criteria via a graphical user interface displaying mapping information. This location targeting criteria can then be compared to location information regarding user equipment devices so that assets are delivered to appropriate devices. The comparison of the location targeting criteria to the device location information can be performed at the user equipment devices or at another location. In the latter case, the assets can be addressed to appropriate user equipment devices or appropriate user equipment devices can be directed to select the asset, which is broadcast via the network. In this manner, assets can be targeted to individual network users on a basis independent of network topology.

If the plurality of items forms a first ensemble of items, the system performs a search using the search query and a first keyword related to the first ensemble of items. The system then outputs results of the performed search.

In one embodiment, a unique profile that represents the user location and is keyed to profile attributes selected from both a first set of data collected from the user location and the second set of profile data collected from an external source, is generated. The key does not allow a third party to identify the end-user location or a user associated with the end-user location. Electronic content transmitted to end-user locations may be encoded such that it may only be accessed by an authorized user and/or on a specific electronic device at the user location. A graphical user interface may be utilized to allow a third-party to provide selection criteria for determining user locations to receive targeted content. Abstract: Dynamic transcoding can be used to provide supplemental content, selected to be played during breaks in a stream of primary content, that has the same format as the primary content. It can be desirable to provide supplemental content that is personalized. This may include additional content or advertising that may be of interest or relevance to a viewer. In many instances, the supplemental content will come from a different source and thus can be in a different format. Approaches in accordance with various embodiments can take advantage of dynamic transcoding of the supplemental content to provide properly formatted supplemental content through the same stream as the primary content. A custom manifest can be provided to the media player that points to the transcoded supplemental content. At an appropriate break in the playback, the media player can use the manifest to obtain the formatted supplemental content.

Abstract: A system and method are presented for recording audio and video of an individual within a kiosk on separate audio and video computers that are locally connected to the kiosk. Instructions are provided to the individual through a locally connected controller computer. A remote user computer requests recorded data from the kiosk. The controller computer prompts the audio and video computers to separately stream audio and video to the remote user computer. The controller computer divides the audio and video data into time segments, and then presents different versions of the session to different users, with each different version comprising a different set of time segments. A central system server provides searching capabilities to the user computer to search and request data from a plurality of remotely located kiosks, each having separate controller, audio, and video computers.
