The user receives the electronic content on his computing device by selecting a text from the electronic content or the user can select the document by pressing the copy menu, which causes a pop-up user interface. The user can save the electronic content in one click directly on the user device or to a server as well as collaborate on the instant messaging platform to chat or share electronic content with other users.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for minimizing delay time for controlling media content capture during live video broadcast production. The system includes a video production receiver that receives media content streams from one or more cameras that includes live media content captured by the cameras and encoded in a first encoding format. Moreover, a multi-view interface displays the media content and a video production controller generates control instructions based on inputs to the interface to change operation of the cameras capturing the respective media content. A camera controller is included that transmits the generated control instructions to the cameras to change the operation for capturing the respective media content. Moreover, the video production controls production of a live video stream for video broadcast production using media content that is captured from the cameras and that is encoded in a second encoding format different than the first encoding format.

For example, live content is available to a user both via a live stream from a remote live edge server, and via a recorded-live stream from a remote recording server. During playback of a live content stream, a player system uses a warm-up player to continually receive, pre-decode, and pre-buffer the live stream at the live edge to maintain a pre-buffered warm-up stream; and the player system uses a primary player to decode and generate a playback stream for playback. As the user navigates playback between live-edge and non-live-edge locations, the player system can seamlessly switch between generating the playback stream based on the recorded-live stream for non-live-edge playback, or based on the pre-buffered warm-up stream for live-edge playback.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing access to program channels, e.g., high definition programs and program channels which corresponding to a standard definition program and/or program channels are described. In accordance with the invention, a high definition auto tune function is supported. When enabled, in one exemplary embodiment, if a user selects a standard program definition channel, a check is automatically made to determine if a corresponding high definition program channel is available. The corresponding high definition program channel is a channel which provides the same program as on the selected standard definition channel but in high definition. When the auto tune function is enabled and a corresponding high definition channel is available, the device, e.g., set to box or tuner implementing the auto tune feature of the present invention, automatically tunes to the high definition channel instead of the standard definition channel.

Thereafter, the communication actions are initiated, for example, such that a user is provided with an indication of the communication event visually via the cable device and/or audibly via the user device, depending on the particular cable attributes.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for content switching in a content distribution network. In one embodiment, an apparatus is configured to receive a user selection for content. The apparatus processes the content and outputs the content to a display. The apparatus also receives an input indicating a content switch, and switches to an alternate content located on a second apparatus. The apparatus transmits the secondary content to the second apparatus, while receiving the alternate content from the second apparatus. In one aspect, the apparatus performs at least one of the following: provide a notification to a user when the secondary content has ended or automatically switch the alternate content back to the second apparatus while receiving the user selected content in response to detecting the end of the secondary content. Methods for content switching in a content switching in a content distribution network using the aforementioned apparatus are also disclosed.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for generating a personalized video mosaic from multiple of video sources in a cable television services system. A head end receives a subscriber selection of video sources from multiple video sources broadcast in the television services system and generates a personalized video mosaic from those sources. The head end then transmits the personalized video mosaic to the subscriber for simultaneous viewing of the selected video sources on a broadcast channel in the cable television services system. The set-top box executes an application program enabling the subscriber to individually select the video sources which make up the personalized video mosaic and transmits the selections to the head end. The set-top box enables the display of the personalized video mosaic on the broadcast channel in the cable television services network.

Abstract: A method of calibrating a home entertainment system containing a wireless home entertainment hub using a calibration device comprises obtaining a registration from at least one sink device in the home entertainment system. A first instruction is transmitted to the calibration device to begin receiving a calibration signal emitted from the at least one sink device, where the calibration device is a wireless device. A second instruction is transmitted to the at least one sink device to emit the calibration signal. A representation of the calibration signal emitted from the at least one sink device is received from the calibration device. The representation of the calibration signal is analyzed. One or more indications of adjustments to parameters of the sink device based on results from the analyzing is transmitted to each of the sink devices.

Information about media content items available across the disparate sources is managed by a server which relates the media content items and the different sources from which a media content item may be accessed in a database. When a user desires to share media content, an iURL referencing the media content is generated for the user to share. When a given user selects the iURL, information about the content sources available to the given user in conjunction with the content referenced by the iURL are processed to determine a configuration of the content sources available to the given user (which often differs from the user having shared the content) to effect playback the media content.
