Abstract: A method for referencing and updating objects in a shared resource environment. A reference counter counts is incremented for every use of an object subtype in a session and decremented for every release of an object subtype in a session. A session counter is incremented upon the first instance of fetching an object type into a session cache and decremented upon having no instances of the object type in use in the session. When both the reference counter and the session counter are zero, the object type may be removed from the cache. When the object type needs to be updated, it is cloned into a local cache, and changes are made on the local copy. The global cache is then locked to all other users, the original object type is detached, and the cloned object type is swapped into the global cache, after which the global cache is unlocked.

Abstract: Methods and systems for provisioning content streaming services are provided. In one example, a method includes: receiving user registration data for users associated with an MDU, generating a user profile for each user, grouping users into multiple segments based on common user experience level and/or common features, performing network segmentation of the MDU network, generating an integrated user-network segment profile for each user segment, designating streaming services and content resources to each network segment within the same user segment, and provisioning streaming services and content resources in response to user requests.

Abstract: Systems and methods for simultaneous local access to live broadcast content are disclosed. The system can receive a request to create a viewing session for a broadcast of a live event displayed at a broadcast receiver device, and identify a plurality of player profiles that are participating in the viewing session. The system can identify, based on the plurality of player profiles, a plurality of conditional events associated with the live event, and detect an outcome of the plurality of conditional events. The system can transmit, responsive to detecting the outcome of the plurality of conditional events, instructions that cause an application executing on the broadcast receiver device to display a notification corresponding to the outcome of the plurality of conditional events with the broadcast of the live event.

A content generating device according to an embodiment comprises: an acquiring portion for requesting, from an accumulating portion that accumulates a plurality of video data, video data that satisfies a prescribed condition, to acquire a plurality of video data that satisfies the condition; a starting frame identifying portion for identifying starting frames wherein prescribed actions start, in the video playback of the plurality of video data acquired by the acquiring portion; and a generating portion for generating multi-video data by combining a plurality of video data with the timings of the identified starting frames synchronized.

Abstract: Data describing broadband internet usage is collected from a user equipment device associated with each respective user account. The data are then input into a machine learning model that is trained on broadband internet usage data of a plurality of user accounts in a single geographic area. An n-dimensional metric for each user account is then obtained as output from the machine learning model. Using the n-dimensional metric, at least one candidate user account suspected of being engaged in broadband internet access sharing is identified, and a list of candidate user accounts is generated.

Abstract: An audio-visual live content delivery system includes a client having access to a provider network via a gateway, an audio-visual live content delivering equipment comprising a multicaster for transmitting audio-visual live contents in multicast form via the provider network, a de-multicaster being able to perform a conversion in unicast form of audio-visual live contents received in multicast form from the multicaster, and a controller managing routing of requests to get audio-visual live contents. The client performs a discovery procedure aiming at receiving information on potential presence and availability of the de-multicaster. When the client intends receiving a targeted audio-visual live content, the client sends to the controller a request providing indication of presence and availability, or not, of the de-multicaster. Then the controller decides how redirecting the client to fulfill the request, according at least to the indication of presence and availability, or not, of the de-multicaster.

Abstract: Systems and method for updating vehicles during transport. In particular, systems and methods are provided for transport vehicles to provide secure wireless updates to autonomous vehicles being transported. By updating vehicles during transport, significant time savings can be achieved, as vehicles can arrive at a destination ready for deployment. A secure protocol can be used by the transport vehicle for the updates to protect software and other data.

Abstract: A system comprises a computer device, such as a host apparatus, a second device, such as a digital signage player, which is connectable to the computer device, and an external device connectable to the second device. The computer device sends a command to the second device. The command causes the second device to send a message to the external device. The command includes destination information for the external device and a command payload, whereby the second device can be controlled to send a message to the external device corresponding to the destination information with a message payload corresponding to the command payload and compatible with the external device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for activating a personalized user profile on a device based on the detection of an outlying user input. A media guidance application detects a user input that is inconsistent with an active user profile. In response, the media guidance application identifies a candidate user that both shares a location with the device and has a user profile consistent with the user input. The media guidance application activates the user profile of the candidate user as a temporary active user profile on the device.

Abstract: A system and method for managing simultaneous data streams from multiple sources is provided. At least one paired audio device within the system, is a managing device and coordinates the audio playback presented in each paired audio device. In this way, each device can produce an audio playback associated with different streams simultaneously. In some examples, the managing device is one of the two devices or a peripheral device, e.g., a smartphone. In some examples, each data stream contains data used to generate a priority level for each data stream. The managing device can allow a data stream having a higher priority level or the data stream with a detected change to “barge-in” causing the playbacks of each device to be associated with a different data stream. Additionally, each device is capable of assuming the role of “stream scanner” to prevent uneven power consumption between the devices within the system.

Abstract: A system and method for automatically determining if certain operational states of a plurality of networked media appliances are causally connected with those appliances becoming unstable and/or having a software crash. Once these certain operation states are identified, a command prohibiting each of the networked media appliances from entering the identified state is generated and transmitted to the media appliances. The generated commands effectively insulate the media appliances entering the prohibited state, thereby eliminating a possible cause of a software crash without requiring the appliances to undergo a software update or the installation of a software patch.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for generating a factory layout to dynamically optimize a media content production in a real-time environment. The system includes a media production optimizer with a widget controller that provides widgets that represent work packages as micro-services that perform functions of the media content production, respectively. A user interface controller receive inputs from a user interface to dynamically update the factory layout for the media content production. The media production optimizer then recompiles underlying code to update a model of the factory layout in response to the inputs from the operator of the system, and also migrates the updated factory layout to a cloud platform that includes a plurality of media production components including the plurality of micro-services for deployment thereon.

Furthermore, machine learning may be employed both to recognize listeners and correlate them to likely languages and to mimic voices in the played-back audio. Or, the source AV display device may send language in only the selected language of the display device to each listener device, with each receiving listener device converting the audio to the preferred language of the respective listener on the fly.

The electronic device may then receive input data from a control device. Using the connection, the electronic device may send the input data to a remote system, which uses the input data to update a state of an application. The set-top box then forwards the interposed content to the display. The displaying terminal receives the screen content data and uses a content displaying control provided by the web-based OS to display the screen content data onto a screen. The present techniques enable two devices that are equipped with the web-based OS to implement screen projecting, expand the usage of the screen projecting technology, and are easy for implementation.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method generates interaction skeletons for a plurality of participating computers to inter-operate based on a multi-party interaction protocol. The method includes creating an Interaction Protocol based on an interaction process of how the plurality of participating computers interact with each other. The Interaction Protocol uses multiple Interaction Activities and multiple Transition Relations to describe the interaction process among the plurality of participating computers. The method then determines an interaction skeleton by generating multiple Participating Activities and their Transition Relations for each participating computer in the plurality of participating computers based on corresponding Interaction Activities and their Transition Relations in the Interaction Protocol. The interaction skeleton is converted into executable interaction modules.
