Duplex Patents (Class 73/264)
  • Patent number: 5548998
Abstract: A gas meter, including flexible diaphragms which shift within chambers into which the gas to be metered is alternately admitted and exhausted, is adapted for a variety of different mounting configurations by the selection of appropriate top and bottom covers. In one embodiment, each of the top and bottom covers includes a gas pipe connection with these connections being arranged parallel to each other. In a second embodiment, the top cover is internally divided to provide separate paths for inlet and outlet gases while the bottom cover constitutes a blank plate.

  • Patent number: 5419191
Abstract: A counting apparatus which is designed to be placed in parallel to a fluid flow line has a differential pressure switch which is placed across an orifice positioned within the fluid flow line. A counting mechanism is associated with the differential pressure switch to register a count when signaled by the differential pressure switch. The differential pressure switch is operable to react to the difference in pressure across the orifice to signal the counter to register a count. The orifice can be a fixed or a variable orifice. In another embodiment of the invention, a fixed or variable orifice is placed within the diaphragm of a diaphragm type differential pressure switch to adapt the differential pressure switch to be placed in series with the fluid flow line rather than in parallel to it.

  • Patent number: 5325084
Abstract: The system includes a vestibule and a plurality of emergency exits interconnecting the secure area with the outside environment. The vestibule comprises a pair of security doors and the emergency exits comprise security doors having locking means and means for disabling the locking means in response to any one of several preselected egress corroborating events that are not likely to be associated with adversarial activity. The various preselected events may include non-emergency situations such as a request to leave or disable made by two persons within the secure area, a request to leave or disable made by a single person within the secure area plus security guard affirmation, and a request to leave or disable made by a single person within the secure area plus the expiration of a time delay triggered by the request.

  • Patent number: 4648054
Abstract: A yarn twist measurement device having a freely rotatable disc with its axis parallel to the axis of a travelling yarn. The disc being rotated by the surface twist of the yarn in contact with the circumference of the disc as the yarn travels past the disc. By measuring the circumferential displacement of the disc and the corresponding linear translation of the yarn, the amount of twist on the surface of the yarn can be calculated.

  • Patent number: 4356727
Abstract: A continuous volume measuring device for measuring the cumulative volume of a flowing fluid. The device includes a pair of coupled expandable chambers, and the fluid flow is directed into a first chamber to expand it while the second chamber is contracting and expelling liquid therefrom, the expansion of the first chamber being measured to determine the volume of fluid being received therein. When a predetermined volume of liquid is received, a valve means diverts the fluid flow to fill the second chamber, the expansion of which is similarly measured, and the first chamber is emptied. In the preferred embodiment, the chambers are precision syringes.

  • Patent number: 4281541
Abstract: A positive displacement gas meter includes a two-piece composite center casting. The first piece is a center chamber casting which has a lower cylindrical wall partially defining the center chamber and an upper manifold portion defining passages to front and rear chambers defined by diaphragms and front and rear covers secured to the center chamber casting. The second piece comprises a valve chamber manifold casting which mounts to the top of the center chamber casting and defines openings registering with the openings to the front and rear chambers. The valve chamber manifold also partially defines a center chamber and defines an opening thereto, and further at least partially defines an exhaust passage having a collection end adjacent the openings to the chambers and leading to an outlet end. A valve seat having a sliding valve cover is mounted to the valve chamber manifold casting, and a top casting fits thereover and is secured to the valve chamber manifold casting.
