  • Patent number: 5020383
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus wherein the reciprocation of a piston which is achieved utilizing air pressure causes movement of a pawl portion provided on the piston, and this movement in turn causes intermittent rotation of a spindle. In particular, according to the present invention, a pair of pawl members are used, and a selector lever is provided to permit only one of the pawl members to cause the rotation of the spindle. When the pawl member to be actuated is thus selected through the action of the selector lever, selection can be made as to the direction of rotation of the spindle.

  • Patent number: 4631972
Abstract: The present invention relates to a programmer control device comprising a rotary cam block capable of being driven in rotation step by step by an advancing cam actuating an oscillating pawl carrier. The control device possesses means of blocking and releasing the action of the pawl, comprising a blocking lever 50' interacting with means capable of rocking the said blocking lever between two angular positions during each to-and-fro movement of the advancing pawl. In the first position, a part 51' of the blocking lever is located in the path of a slope 55 of the pawl 21, so as to prevent the action of the latter. In the second position, the part 51' is not located in the path of the pawl 21, so as to permit the action of the latter.

  • Patent number: 4400986
Abstract: The legs of the landing gear of a semi-trailer may be automatically extended and retracted by a pneumatically operated actuator adapted to be connected to the crankshaft of the landing gear and adapted to rotate the cross-shaft of the landing gear selectively in either direction at a high or low speed. The crankshaft is rotated by gears and ratchets which are driven by pawls adapted to be reciprocated by an air-actuated cylinder and adapted to be alternately positioned in active and inactive positions. The flow of pressurized air to the cylinder is controlled by a cycle valve and an on-off valve, the latter being capable of turning off the actuator automatically when the legs are fully retracted.

  • Patent number: 3964429
Abstract: A device for replenishing the developer material in a copying machine comprises a supply reservoir with a roller, preferably having a flocculent surface, acting as a bottom closure therefor, the roller being driven from a shaft associated with developer conveyor means of the developing unit. Each movement step of the roller is a consequence of a revolution of the shaft. A ratchet and pawl mechanism, preferably controlled by a solenoid, links the shaft and roller. The device may also include adjustable timing means which ensures that a preset developer replenishment is always effected even if the copying machine stops.
