  • Patent number: 7814807
Abstract: A starter is provided, which includes an intermediate gear connected to an intermediate shaft, and engaging with and driven by a pinion gear which is connected to an output shaft of a motor. The intermediate gear engages with a ring gear of an engine to crank up the engine when shifted together with the pinion gear in axial directions of these shafts via a retainer which is slidably supported by both of these shafts. A clutch supported by the shaft of the motor causes this shift by pushing the retainer in its axial direction. The clutch and the intermediate gear, each being defined by its outermost diameter, overlap with each other in the radial direction between these shafts. This overlap reduces stress acting on the retainer when the intermediate gear engages with the ring gear, thus reducing thickness of the retainer and the axial length of the starter.

Hydraulic fluid is drawn from the transmission case, around a lower side of the hydraulic pump, through a suction port thereof, and discharged to a suction port of the valve unit. The hydraulic power unit includes a cylinder tube and piston, extending in the lengthwise direction, and support shaft, extending along the width direction, which is supported by the transmission case and connected to a lift arm.

Abstract: In a transmission for a working vehicle, a PTO input shaft is located with its rotational axis extending in a vehicle lengthwise direction substantially at a widthwise center of a transmission case along a vehicle width direction. A running power input shaft is located with its rotational axis extending in the vehicle lengthwise direction substantially at the same position as that of the PTO input shaft along the vehicle width direction and at a lower side of the PTO input shaft. The transmission case provides an accommodation space for accommodating a differential gear unit, which space is displaced to a first lateral side of the vehicle along the vehicle width direction. A running power transmission shaft is located on the front side of the space with its axis extending in the vehicle lengthwise direction, and the running power input shaft, the running power transmission shaft and the differential gear unit are interlocked to each other via a running power gear train.

A first clutch gear, which serves as a driven gear, is arranged coaxial with the second clutch gear, with a friction mechanism interposed therebetween. The first clutch gear receives the driving force which the second clutch gear transmits thereto through the friction mechanism. • Patent number: 4887478
Abstract: In a multiple-step gear drive there are two stationary toothed wheels, comprising a driving wheel and a driven wheel. Their spacing and positions remain constant as the housing that supports gear trains is rotated. For each gear step or position there is a gear train. Each train comprising one or several gear-wheels and in engagement with each other, all these gear-wheels being rotatably jounalled in a housing. The housing is movable substantially parallel to a plane running perpendicular to the shafts of the stationary toothed wheels, to be brought into a specific engagement position for each gear step in which the gear train is in engagement with both stationary toothed wheels. The housing and gear wheels are thus arranged so that in at least one gear step the housing can be disengaged from its engaged position in two substantially opposite directions, thus moving the corresponding gear train in the selected direction and thereby breaking the driving connection between the two stationary toothed wheels.
