Swinging Carriage Patents (Class 74/354)
  • Patent number: 11850873
Abstract: A ribbon transport mechanism includes an input gear that receives rotational power from a transport motor. An intermediate gear, which engages with the input gear, receives the rotational power from the transport motor via the input gear and transmits the rotational power to a first paying out rotor. When the cartridge is attached, a paying-out-side one-way clutch suppresses the input gear from rotating in a first input direction and the intermediate gear from rotating in a first intermediate direction and permits the input gear to rotate in a second input direction and the intermediate gear to rotate in a second intermediate direction. An elastic member applies force to the intermediate gear in the second intermediate direction to reserve a clearance between the input gear and the intermediate gear and next to a front end of the intermediate gear in the first intermediate direction.

Abstract: A speed-changing gear set inside the drive system of a scanner, wherein the drive system has a driving motor and an output unit. The speed-changing gear set has a control element and a cam driven by the control element. The cam has a first set of gears fastened to the cam such that one of the gears in the first group engages with a gear on the output unit. An axle is in contact with the cam such that movement of the cam produces a shift in the position of the axle. The axle has a second set of gears mounted on the axle. When the cam stops at a first designated position, one of the gears in the first set of gears meshes with the driving motor so that the output unit is driven. When the cam stops at a second designated position and shifts the position of the axle, gears in the second group mesh with the gear on the driving motor and a gear in the first group, respectively. The output unit is thus driven by the driving motor through the gear train that has the first set of gears and the second set of gears.

Abstract: An automatic document feeder (ADF) capable of releasing jammed documents has a transmission mechanism that includes a removable transmission device. The removable transmission device is moved away and thus the transmission mechanism is disconnected when necessary. The disconnection of the transmission mechanism makes the releasing of the jammed documents much easier. The removable transmission device can be removed by the force for removing the jammed documents, or by using a spring, a leaf spring, or an electromagnetic switch.

Abstract: In a center of a sun gear an inner cylindrical portion is provided. The inner cylindrical portion is rotatably fitted to a fixed shaft. On the sun gear a circular groove is formed around the inner cylindrical portion. At a center of a planet lever an outer cylindrical portion is formed. The outer cylindrical portion fits to the inner cylindrical portion in the groove. On the inner cylindrical portion plural arms are formed, and an end of each arm contacts to a wall of the groove with an adequate pressure. When the sun gear rotates, a frictional force is generated by contact of between the wall and the arm and has an effect on the planet lever to swing with the sun gear. The planet gear attached to the planet lever revolts about the sun gear.

Abstract: A bicycle transmission assembly comprises a gear shifting device and a reciprocating pedal device that are mounted to a bicycle frame. The reciprocating pedal device comprises a reverse gear train consisting of a first reverse gear and a second reverse gear to make two pedal rods move horizontally and reciprocatingly. Swaying movements of the pedal rods drive a single direction gear mechanism. The gear shifting device comprises a first idler gear and a second idler gear that are meshed with each other. A follower gear and the first idler gear are coaxially mounted with each other. The follower gear is connected to a single direction gear of the reciprocating pedal device via a transmission element. Pivotal movements of a gear shifting lever cause rotational movements of the carrier member such that the first idler gear or the second idler gear is meshed with a transmission gear to thereby drive the wheels of the bicycle.

Abstract: A reversing gear drive system is provided in an irrigation sprinkler for reversibly shifting the direction of rotation of a sprinkler spray head for back and forth part-circle rotation between adjustably set end limits, to sweep an outwardly projected stream of irrigation water through a predetermined arcuate pattern to irrigate a surrounding terrain area and associated vegetation. The reversing gear drive system includes a gear carrier having first and second output gears driven rotatably in opposite directions. A shift mechanism is provided for shifting the gear carrier between forward-drive and reverse-drive positions with the first and second output gears alternately engaged with a ring gear for rotatably driving the spray head in opposite directions. The shift mechanism includes a shift lever and a reverse trip spring for engaging arcuately spaced limit stops mounted for rotation with the spray head.

  • Patent number: 6338401
Abstract: A movement control device has a DC motor by which a recording medium is moved by one frame of image, and a stepping motor by which a recording medium is moved by a small predetermined amount. A driven gear fixed on the output shaft of the DC motor is meshed with a gear of a moving mechanism on which the recording medium is mounted. A clutch has a transmitting gear which is rotatably supported by an rotatable arm and can be meshed with the driven gear. The rotatable arm is rotated by the stepping motor. When the stepping motor is rotated in the forward direction, the rotatable arm is rotated in a first direction, and thus the transmitting gear is meshed with the driven gear at a first point. When the stepping motor is rotated in the reverse direction, the rotatable arm is rotated in a second direction reverse to the first direction, and thus the transmitting gear is meshed with the driven gear at a second point different from the first point.

Abstract: A hand crank generator includes a crank, a gear transmission, and a generation motor generator driven by the gear transmission. The crank and the gear transmission are coupled to each other. A clutch gear is coupled between the crank and the gear transmission. The crank is manually driven to further drive the gear transmission, and the generation motor generator is driven to generate electric current through the clutch gear. When the cranking stops, the clutch gear disengages from a motor generator gear disposed on the generation motor generator. A weighted wheel continues to revolve under inertia for a while to drive the generation motor generator to keep on generating electric current, so that the purpose of saving manual efforts can be achieved.
