    Abstract: A control device for an automatic drive of an automobile having an adjusting device that is actuatable by an accelerator pedal comprising a deflector roll with which transmission means for a slide unit of the drive and for a spring-loaded throttle valve of an internal combustion engine are connected. The transmission means includes a cable that is connected to the adjusting device and is led to the slide unit and to the accelerator pedal. The cable is held in the deflector roll by a securing means. The transmission means is also connected with a rotatable actuator lever for the throttle valve. According to a preferred embodiment, the deflector roll has a guide groove for the cable and a recess in which a clamping sleeve is fastened to the cable, the clamping sleeve being held within the recess under the tensioning of the cable, whereby the clamping sleeve is released from the recess upon a rupturing of the cable.

    Abstract: A quick release winch tie down assembly is mounted in the tracks of a ramp of a car hauler vehicle and includes a crank shaft extending from one end through a segmented bearing sleeve, a release shaft connected to said crank shaft in nonrotatable telescopic arrangement, and a tie down sleeve extending about both the release shaft and crank shaft in a space between the bearing sleeve segments. A spring urges lock elements of the tie down sleeve and the release shaft in locking relationship. A tie down chain is connected at one end portion to the tie down sleeve, and a rachet and pawl means limits the rotation of crank shaft to one direction, so that when the crank shaft is rotated it also rotates the release shaft and tie down sleeve and winds the tie down chain about the tie down sleeve, and when the lock elements are disengaged, the tie down sleeve is free to rotate and unreel the tie down chain.

The system is coordinated with the landing gear position sensing system of the aircraft and works in conjunction with presently installed thrust reversing systems.

    Abstract: A novel bicycle neck has two sleeves disposed one over the other. A round handle-bar is rotatably mounted in each sleeve. The novel neck is placed into the front wheel fork of the bicycle after the standard prior art gooseneck has been removed. A flexible cable is attached by one end to the handle-bar in the upper sleeve so that the cable could be wound thereon by turning the handle-bar. The cable is then wound around the lower handle-bar and attached thereto to prevent slippage therebetween. The cable terminates at a whiffletree. Also attached to the whiffletree are two more cables disposed on opposite sides of the cable depending from the handle-bars. One of these other cables actuates the front wheel brakes, and the other actuates the rear wheel brakes when the cables are in tension. Tension is placed on the cables by rotating any one of the handle-bars within its respective sleeve.
