  • Patent number: 8936274
Abstract: A locking device for a steering column and method of installing the locking device are provided. The locking device includes a spring body configured for installation on a rotatable bolt and comprising a biasing portion. The spring body is rotatable in one direction through a first range and second range. A lock body includes a body portion configured for mounting on the rotatable bolt and a locking portion configured to move between a first position and a second position. The biasing portion of the spring body contacts the lock body and causes the lock body to rotate with the spring body through the first range. The spring body is rotatable relative to the lock body through the second range such that at least a portion of the biasing portion is elastically deflected when the spring body is rotated through the second range.

  • Publication number: 20140214273
Abstract: An output signal device and method that provides the operator force feedback similar to a pilot control joystick. These force feedback regions include free play, dead-band start of modulation, modulation, fore-warning bumper and hold near max angle. This output signal device may also vary the fore-warning feel and hold positions to be at any angle. This output signal device uses force sensing as the signal and has force slope changes used as auto-calibration of the output signal. This improves signal accuracy and provides a service prognostic signal. The prognostic signal may be used to activate redundant sensor. The variable force feedback may improve operation on rough terrain. The force feedback, may allow more productive operating positions to be learned. This enables productivity and other important job site criteria such as fuel usage to be optimized by interactive communication with this output signal device.

  • Publication number: 20140150598
Abstract: An operating device includes a handle, a sensor system and an actuator. The handle is configured to be: manually deflectable from an inoperative position relative to an axis, and rotatable about the axis, and/or displaceable axially with respect to the axis, and/or tiltable in relation to the axis, and/or displaceable transversely with respect to the axis. The sensor system is configured to detect the deflection of the handle and has a haptics device by which the handle can be subjected to the action of a haptically detectable effect in correspondence with the deflection of the handle. The actuator, to which the handle is fixedly connected, is configured to drive the handle such that the actuator can be moved alternately in one degree of freedom by a movement distance of <1 mm depending on the deflection of the handle.

  • Publication number: 20100107803
Abstract: A retractable hand lever actuator which can be locked in a trough for driving a latch for a switch cabinet or the like is described. The hand lever is articulated at a drive shaft supported in the trough. According to the invention, the hand lever actuator comprises a handle such as a T-handle or L-handle having two connection levers which are arranged relative to one another in a parallelogram configuration and which are articulated by one end at the drive shaft and by the other end in a similar manner at the handle in such a way that, on the one hand, they hold the handle in its direction parallel to the extension of the trough when the handle is folded out of the trough and, on the other hand, are able to transmit a rotational movement of the handle to the drive shaft in the folded out position.

  • Patent number: 4040407
Abstract: The housing of the breaker-distributor is formed with a shaft element inserted in a motor block, and with a flange thereon which is engaged by a claw surrounding the flange and gripping therearound, screwed to the motor to clamp the housing against the motor block. To permit minor adjustment for changes of relative position of the distributor and the motor block upon tightening of the clamping bolt, the attachment shaft is formed with adjustment means acting thereon to permit slight relative displacement of the shaft with respect to the motor block; these adjustment means may, for example, be a hexagonal engagement surface for connection to a wrench, preferably with tapering end faces so that upon rotary engagement of the wrench, simultaneously, a lifting force will be generated; or by forming the claw with threaded holes through which bolts are threaded, engaging the distributor housing eccentrically to exert pressure thereon and effect rotation about the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4034622
Abstract: A cable controlled apparatus comprises a housing having a control member movably mounted therein and adapted to actuate a directional control valve or the like. The cable is threadably mounted in a bracket, mounted on the housing, to selectively move and adjust the position of the valve control member upon rotation of the bracket. A clamping member is mounted on the housing and has an annular groove defined thereon for retaining a flanged base of the bracket therein whereby axial movement of the bracket is prevented upon rotation thereof.
