  • Patent number: 4755639
Abstract: The present invention pertains particularly to low pressure level type switches employed for sensing the water level in washing appliances. The invention employs a slidable strip or tab interposed between the diaphram pre-load spring and the reaction stop for the spring. In one position the thickness of the movable tab increases the pre-load on the spring by an amount equal to the thickness of the tab. In a secod position the pre-load stop extends through a cutout in the tab and contacts the spring reaction member directly.

  • Patent number: 4262178
Abstract: A calibration mechanism for a pressure switch of the type utilizing a rotary cam which controls the setting of a spring-biased plunger to establish pressure levels required to actuate the switch. The calibration mechanism includes a support bracket mounted on the switch and a cam assembly including an integrally formed cam member and camshaft. A plunger adjustment mechanism includes a pivotally mounted lever having a cam follower in following engagement with the cam. The support bracket defines a bore adapted to receive the camshaft. The cam has a range of rotational orientations in which the cam follower engages the operative portion of the cam profile. The camshaft includes a projection extending radially therefrom which is axially disposed from the cam a predetermined distance greater than the axial length of the bore in the support bracket. The support bracket defines a slot extending from the bore.

  • Patent number: 4033425
Abstract: A control system for a tractor vehicle having an operators station resiliently mounted relative to the chassis in which the control system passes through a wall of the operators station and incorporates mounting means acting to support the control system to accommodate relative movement between the operators station and chassis and also to act as a seal to prevent passage of dust and dirt to the operators station and in addition, to act as a suspension supporting the control system in a manner for dampening vibration and noise which otherwise would be transmitted through the control system to the operators station.

  • Patent number: 4005614
Abstract: A system for transferring motion between locations remote with respect to each other by a push-pull control cable assembly. The system employs a motion conversion unit at either or both control and controlled station, said units serving to convert rotary motion into linear motion, and vice versa. That is, a force transfer shaft is rotatably mounted in the housing of the motion conversion unit to receive, or impart, rotary motion, and the core element of the push-pull control cable assembly -- which receives, or imparts, linear motion -- extends into, or through, the unit in transversely spaced relation with respect to the shaft. That portion of the normally flexible core element which extends into, or through, the unit is made rigid to impart columnar strength. A crosshead is secured to the rigidified portion of the core element and is slidably received within a first guideway presented from the housing to minimize lateral loading to the rigidified portion of the core element.

  • Patent number: 3995576
Abstract: A boat steering with an anti-theft lock, comprising a steering housing having a rotatably journalled steering shaft and a panel attachment intended to be attached to an instrument panel and surrounding the shaft. The steering housing and panel attachment are connected to each other by means of a nut arranged concentric with the shaft. The panel attachment is provided with locking means having a lock bolt which, in the locking position, engages in a notch in the shaft thereby preventing turning of the shaft, the arrangement of the locking cylinder being such that removal of the nut for separation of the steering housing from the panel attachment is prevented.

  • Patent number: 3979967
Abstract: A shift control device adapted for installation on a conventional pneumatic transmission control switch for trucks to convert its lever action to an easily controllable twisting or turning action and one that prevents inadvertent "down-shifting." The device includes a ball-like knob adapted for connection to the head of a standard pneumatic transmission control with a radially extending fork portion that fits over the lever for the control. The knob is rotatably supported on a central pin attached to the control head so that turning it will move the control level, its travel being limited so that downward force must be applied on the knob before the control lever can be moved to its low range position.
