Abstract: Several embodiments of fully adjustable motorcycles so as to permit the use of a single motorcycle as either a touring or racing machine. The handlebar assembly is adjustable along an arc as are the foot pegs with the center of movement of the arc being midway disposed between the handlebar and the foot pegs. This permits the rider to assume either an upright touring position, or a reclined, crouched racing position. The seat is also adjustable and the adjustment further accommodates riders of varying stature.
Abstract: A wheelchair with footrest supports having a pair of horizontal, parallel forwardly extending cylindrical rods comprising, a pair of blocks, each block having an upper bore positioned to receive and support an associated cylindrical rod of the wheelchair, each block having a horizontal lower bore perpendicular to the upper bore. A pair of foot supporting plates, each plate adjustably supported with respect to the block, each plate also having a pair of holes extending therethrough with bolts extending through the holes, each bolt having a complimentary nut.
Abstract: A footrest holder for a motorcycle comprising two mounting plates for attachment to a vehicle frame, of the motorcycle, an arm extending therefrom for supporting a gearshift or brake lever on its free end, the arm being pivotable about an axis at right angles to the swivel axis of the arm, the arm being formed by a continuous rod which carries the plates, and at least one of the plates is movably mountable on the rod.
Abstract: A kickstand for a bicycle includes a bracket, a slot formed in the bracket, a plate slidably engaged with the bracket, and a bolt engaged through the plate and the slot of the bracket so as to couple the plate to the bracket. The plate is adjustable relative to the bracket.
Abstract: A pivoting heel holder is provided for a driver of a vehicle and the like which consists of a bracket mountable to a floor of a vehicle in front of and between the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal. A receptacle is formed to receive the curved back heel portion of the driver's shoe. A mechanism is connected between the bracket and the receptacle, for permitting swiveling of the receptacle, so that the sole of the shoe can make contact with either the brake pedal or accelerator pedal while resting in the receptacle thereby eliminating the wearing out of the heel of the shoe.
Abstract: A drive control system for an automobile which has a heel support pivot on the floor of the automobile at a position opposite to the brake pedal in front of driver's seat. The brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are placed on the circle drawn by the ball of the foot when the foot is rotated about the heel on the heel support pivot, thereby permitting the driver to selectively operate the brake pedal or the accelerator pedal by rotating the foot about the heel.
Abstract: Safety apparatus for preventing a physically handicapped driver of a motor vehicle from unintentionally contacting a first foot control pedal of the vehicle with his or her lower limb when he or she operates the vehicle without using the first foot control panel are provided. The apparatus include a base member adapted to be attached to the floorboard of the vehicle adjacent the first foot control pedal thereof. The base member includes means for holding the lower limb of the driver away from the first foot control pedal.
Abstract: A compound pedal structure providing acceleration and braking action in vehicles. The pedal structure has a pendant-type brake pedal and a pendant-type acceleration pedal which are suspended from a common axle with the brake pedal below the acceleration pedal. A fixed foot stock is positioned between the pedals. By resting a foot on the foot stock a user can selectively operate the pedals by a rocking heel and toe action.
Abstract: A footstep for attachment to a bicycle component, such as a front fork, has a channel or semi-cylindrical configuration that encompasses the bicycle component when the footstep is in its retracted position. The combined lateral dimension of component and footstep is barely greater than that of the component itself whereby the footstep is out of the way. The lower end of the footstep is pivoted to the component so that it can be moved outwardly into operative position. Edges of the footstep provide spaced apart lines of contact for great stability. Weight and shock loads are directly and efficiently transmitted to the bicycle component. A small tab facilitates movement of the footstep to operative position by foot manipulation.
Abstract: A removably-attachable pedal attachment for trick-cycling bicycles includes a fixture attachable to a front fork blade of the bicycle and provided with brackets which support a shaft on which two spaced suspended plates of the pedal are rotatably supported. Each plate has an extending portion which engages a lower edge of the fixture. A spring supported on the shaft and having an end engaged on the fixture has a bent portion adapted to push up the underside of the pedal.
Abstract: Bar steps of a small-sized vehicle provided in association with underframes of a small-sized vehicle of the type that a rider rides the vehicle by straddling a vehicle body frame and a seat (motorcycle, motor tricycle), characterized in that each of the bar steps is formed of a step main body and a cover member covering the step main body, the step main body is supported from the underframe, the cover member includes an elastic piece as a part thereof and as swingably supported directly or indirectly from a support member provided in association with the underframe or from the step main body, and the cover member can take an attitude for covering the step main body and an erected attitude deviated toward the vehicle body frame owing to its swing motion.
Abstract: A device for the adjustment of the axis of the footrest in motorcycles is described, which device comprises a pair of movable discs (2,2'). The position of the discs is fixed with respect to plate (3) fixed in the frame of the motorcycle, after the position of the footrest is adjusted within the scope of a circumference which has as center the center of the discs and as radius, the eccentricity of the footrest (1) with respect to the same center, as shown in FIG. 1.
Abstract: In a pedal for bicycles there is provided a slanting guide extending from the top of the longitudinal element close to the toe clip of the peripheral band of the pedal, towards the central pin of the pedal itself.
Abstract: A foot rest assembly for attachment to a peg bracket of a motorcycle is characterized by an extension rod coupled to the bracket and a "floor board" style foot rest pivotably coupled to the extension rod in a manner to be movable between lowered and raised positions so as to be able to be folded alongside the motorcycle.
Abstract: A parking brake mechanism for a motorcycle having a rear brake pedal which is to be depressed for applying a brake on a rear road wheel. An annular ratchet wheel is rigidly connected to the pivoted end of the rear brake pedal for simultaneous rotation therewith, and one or more pawls pivotally mounted within the ratchet wheel are spring biased into engagement with teeth formed on its inside surface. Normally, the pawls are held out of engagement with the ratchet teeth by a rotary cam ring. Upon angular displacement of this cam ring relative to the pawls, the ratchet mechanism functions to permit the rear brake pedal to be depressed but to prevent its return motion. The cam ring can be actuated either by a retractable footrest or by a hand lever on the steering handle of the motorcycle.
Abstract: An auxiliary footrest for automobiles consisting of a step rigidly affixed to the automobile body directly adjacent and to the right of the accelerator pedal, at an elevation higher than the normal elevation of the pedal, and adapted to support the right foot of the driver when it is not on the pedal, as is often necessary in cars equipped with automatic speed regulating devices. A skirt attached to the step edge adjacent the accelerator pedal and depending below said pedal may be used as a guide to direct the driver's foot to and from the footrest.
