Using Both A Solid Carbonaceous Fuel (e.g., Coke, Etc.) And A Fluid (e.g, Natural Gas, Etc.) Patents (Class 75/576)
  • Patent number: 11060164
Abstract: An apparatus and an arrangement for the (pyro)metallurgical treatment of electrical and/or electronic scrap or components, which are in particular configured in such a way that substantially uncontaminated electrical and/or electronic scrap or components thereof can be processed without impurities. The apparatus or the arrangement includes a melting reactor, which has a cooler. The present invention also relates to the use of the apparatus or the arrangement for the metallurgical treatment of electrical and/or electronic scrap or components and to the obtainment of raw copper or a precursor thereof, as well as to methods for the (pyro)metallurgical treatment of electrical and/or electronic scrap or components.

  • Patent number: 9169537
Abstract: A method for providing a suspension smelting furnace with constant and continuous feed is disclosed. The method employs intermediate storage bins for fine-grained feed, a feed rate controller for accurately controlling the feed rate of the fine-grained material, and a pneumatic conveyor for lifting the feed up to the top level of the suspension smelting furnace where the burner of the furnace is adapted. The heavy constructions of the storage bins are located close to the ground level and the constructions around and on top of the furnace have been designed essentially lighter than in conventional solutions.

  • Patent number: 6063156
Abstract: A method for producing a molten iron from a compact containing a carbonaceous reductant and an iron oxide is carried out extremely efficiently with a simple operation. The compact is supplied to a molten iron bath or a molten slag on the molten iron bath so as to float on the molten iron bath and/or the molten slag such that a part or most of the compact surface is substantially exposed to a high temperature gas atmosphere in the furnace for taking in a reduced iron generated by the reduction of the iron oxide in the compact.

  • Patent number: 5902375
Abstract: The method of the invention comprises a method of melting tin-plated iron type scrap using tin-plated iron type scrap of loose packing as a portion of the iron type scrap and conducting melting while controlling the post combustion ratio of the gas by adjusting the amount of the combustion sustaining gas blown from the secondary tuyeres and a method of melting tin-plated iron type scrap packing the tin-plated iron type scrap prior to the non tin-plated iron type scrap and conducting melting while retaining the tin-melted iron type scrap between the coke packed layer and the non tin-plated iron type scrap packed layer.

  • Patent number: 5149363
Abstract: Process and apparatus for producing ferrous or non-ferrous metals from a charge formed by self-reducing agglomerates (comprising pulverized ores, carbonaceous material plus a binder) consisting the apparatus of a shaft furnace, comprising a cylindrical or conical shaft (3), having, at the top portion thereof, loading gates or devices (1) and an outlet for gases through a chimney (19) or a chamber leading the same to heat regenerators (9) to pre-heat blown-in air and also having one or more rows of tuyeres (15) for blowing air; and a cylindrical or conical hearth (5) having a diameter greater than that of shaft (3) by an amount sufficient for positioning fuel feeders (4) directly over a fuel bed; and on the lower part, one or more rows of tuyeres (13) distributed so as to blow air oxygen enriched or not and injecting or not liquid gaseous, or pulverized fuels, this same apparatus being capable of melting 100% metallic charges of any metal and alloys or different proportions of metallic forms and self-reducing
