Band Saw Dressing Patents (Class 76/50.2)
  • Patent number: 9038512
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a bandsaw blade provided at the top of the teeth with cutting tips made of a hard material, includes the steps of: offsetting to the left and right saw teeth constituting left and right offset teeth; forming the saw teeth constituting the left and right offset teeth to a smaller tooth height than that of the saw teeth constituting straight teeth; and grinding cutting tips provided to the top of the left and right offset teeth subsequent to the offsetting step, and machining the edge lines at the top of the left and right offset teeth so that the lines are orthogonal to the travel direction of a bandsaw blade and the cutting direction of the bandsaw blade.

  • Patent number: 8151669
Abstract: A method and device for producing band saw blades, particularly for the timber-processing industry. A blank band saw blade is produced from a metal band, such as a metal band that can be stored on a roll. Several metal bands are combined into a flush metal band packet which can be introduced into a saw band grinding machine. The metal bands are pressed onto a planar guide. The metal band packet is clamped and a grinding machine operates to produce a desired saw tooth profile. A pawl is introduced into a tooth profile which is ground into the metal band packet. The clamped metal band packet is then loosened and advanced with a predetermined tooth spacing.

  • Patent number: 6321618
Abstract: A metalcutting tool, such as a band saw blade, is formed by providing a body having at least one tooth, the tooth including a cutting tip having a rake face, a clearance face intersecting the rake face to form a main cutting edge therewith, and a pair of side faces intersecting the rake face to form respective side cutting edges therewith. The main cutting edge and the side cutting edges are subjected to an abrasive rounding operation, and the side cutting edges are thereafter ground to remove any roundness produced therein during the rounding operation.
