One end of the cover portion is inserted under a pull tab of a pop top can. The rim portion connects the other end of the cover portion with one end of the tab portion. The tab portion is inserted, under the pull tab to open the pop top can. The bottle cover includes a cover portion, a neck portion and a web portion. A slot is formed in one end of the neck portion. The slot is sized to be received by a neck end of a bottle. The web portion connects the cover portion with the neck portion. A neck projection is preferably formed in the cover portion. The neck projection is retained in an inner perimeter of the neck end.

The elongated housing assembly has first and second ends. The elongated housing assembly defines an elongated channel when mounted onto the base plate. The frame assembly is mounted onto a first interior face of the elongated housing assembly. The trigger assembly is pivotally mounted onto the frame assembly. The trigger assembly comprises a trigger, a catch arm having a first lip, a second lip, and a leaf spring. The lever arm assembly and the corkscrew assembly are also pivotally mounted onto the frame assembly.

The inside arm is parallel and spaced apart from the outside arm and both arms join at a common shoulder. The inside arm widens down from the shoulder into a loop bottle opener while the outside arm extends away from the shoulder into a pointed tongue with a loop for a key ring. The outside arm has a pair of flanking flanges spaced apart to receive a disposable lighter. The shoulder and spaced apart arms allows the clip to fit upon a belt with the outside arm outward and the inside arm between the belt and the trousers. The clip has a compact form that fits comfortably upon a person.

Abstract: A hand applicator of a system for installing clips upon reinforcement bars includes a receiver tip extending from a palm plate and having a width selected to receive clips made of opposing clasp assemblies adapted to allow the user to attach the first clasp assembly of the bar clip to a reinforcement bar without direct manipulation of the bar clip onto the bar. The applicator further includes a retaining plate having a guide channel adapted to receive an extended thumb or finger from the user's hand while gripping the palm plate. The hand applicator includes a heel plate attached or integrally affixed to the palm plate and disposed so as to define a heel angle of between about 90 degrees and about 180 degrees. The heel plate is operable with the palm plate and the retaining plate to provide for ease of gripping and controlling the hand applicator with one hand of the user.

Abstract: An apparatus for removing earrings from a display card includes a pronged mechanism for slipping between the ornamental portion of the earring and the card. A user applies leverage to the pronged mechanism to separate the earring from the card. The pronged mechanism can be enhanced with a cover for preventing the earring from flipping away as it is removed from the card. The cover can be attached to the pronged portion by any suitable means, such as a band, adhesive, hinge, or other means. When the pronged mechanism removes the earring from the card, the earring retainer on the back of the earring necessarily also separates from the card, so the device can be further enhanced with a cup means for catching and containing the earring retainer. The apparatus can be a single, integrated device.

The user holds the loop and a portion of the rod to repeatedly apply leverage force to a lid of a container and thereby to pry the lid from the container.

Abstract: There is disclosed a tool (50) for extracting a valve assembly (16) from a container (10). The tool preferably had three gripper ring segments (52) adapted to move between a closed ring engaging position and a non-engaging position with the valve assembly (16). The tool has one lever assembly (60) for each gripper ring segment. Each lever assembly has a lever having a first end portion (64) connected with a corresponding one of the ring segments (52) to move the corresponding ring segment between the engaging and non-engaging positions with the valve assembly. The tool has an actuation mechanism (90) connected with the levers to move the levers in synchronism and thereby move the gripper ring segments into engagement with the valve assembly. The actuator pulls the valve assembly from the container via the levers and gripper ring segments with the gripper ring segments in the engaging position.

Abstract: A compact, ergonomic, pocket-sized bottle opener having a thin, generally flat body. The bottom edge of the body includes a jaw opening and at least one area for receiving a lifting finger. A plug of resiliently yielding material is mounted in the finger-receiving area to cushion the lifting finger. A hook at the forward end of the jaw opening forms a fulcrum point for engaging the top of the bottle cap. The hook also serves to lift pull-tabs on cans. An opening at the rear of the body holds a key ring. The key ring can be slipped into the opening during assembly by flexing the leg so as to open a slot that separates the distal end of the leg from the body. The cushioning plug mounts over both the distal end of the leg and the lower edge of the body so as to hold the leg in place after the ring has been installed. The two sides of the body form broad, generally flat display surfaces for application of logos, advertising, or other information.

Abstract: The Champagne Bottle Opener, a hand manipulable device is described for removing mushroom-shaped stoppers from sparkling beverage bottles. It includes a pair of bifurcated jaws and opposing handles about a common pivot wherein each jaw contains improvements over prior art, improvements that enable the device to function more effectively for the wide dimensional variances in bottle and cork diameters commonly found in the marketplace. The opposing handles contain improvements as well permitting the device to be operated more easily and safely. Also included in the present invention are features that generate a tactile “snap” when the device is properly inserted about the bottle, and provide improved means for anchoring the tool when engaging in the extraction of any mushroom-shaped stopper.

Abstract: A multifunction tool that allows a user to remove hinge pins and adjust hinges during the installation and removal of hinged doors. In the preferred embodiment, the tool has a hinge pin bit and an anvil extending perpendicularly from opposite sides of the first end of the tool. The second end of the tool includes a slot extending along the tool's centerline. In an alternate embodiment, the tool incorporates an anvil extending from each side of the tool, and a hinge pin bit extending from each side of the tool. The hinge pin bits have different sizes so that the tool can be used on door hinges with different size hinge pins.

A bar integral with a band palm portion extends from the band distal end and is generally parallel to the finger passage axis. A bottom surface of the bar is a cap top engaging surface. A short shank is integral with the band palm portion and extends radially outward from the band. A prong is integral with the shank and extends forward from the shank. A bottle cap skirt bottom engaging surface is on the prong. When the skirt bottom engaging surface is in engagement with a cap skirt bottom and the bar is engaging the cap top, the cap top surface is substantially parallel to the finger passage axis.

Abstract: A container opening device and method are provided to facilitate the opening of containers of the type having integral pull tabs. The device includes a body, a tip located at one end of the body, and a handle located at the opposite end of the body. A slot is formed in the body and is positioned between the handle and the tip. The device is first used as a lever to rotate the pull tab to an activated position. The pull tab is then inserted within the slot formed in the body, and the handle of the device is rotated while securing the pull tab in the slot causing the lid to roll around the body thus separating the lid from the container.

Abstract: A device for facilitating the separation and removal of an engine cover from a sealing surface on an engine. The engine cover puller may reduce or eliminate the deformation of an engine cover during its removal and allows for its potential reuse. In addition, the engine cover puller may reduce or eliminate the damage to the sealing surfaces between the engine cover and the engine that may occur during an engine cover removal.

Abstract: A tab extending sleeve for a flip-top beverage, snack, and pet food container for easy opening and re-closing, wherein the sleeve is a substantially longitudinal member having a length, a width, a front end, and a distal end. The sleeve includes a top surface and a planar bottom surface being connected to each other, and an internal longitudinal channel is disposed between the top and bottom surfaces. The internal channel extends throughout the entire length of the tab extending sleeve with a width that adequately accommodates a lifting tab of the container. At the front end of the bottom surface there is provided a central notch, whereas an extended holding lip is disposed at the center of the distal end of the top surface which extends beyond the peripheral rim for easy lifting thereof of the beverage container.

The fish-shaped body preferably has a gently curved dorsal surface that comfortably fits into the palm of a user's hand for easy grasping and use. To further resemble a diving lure, treble hooks or the like may be attached to the body by conventional eyelets. Such hooks preferably have rounded ends and have no barbs in order to avoid punctures or cuts to the user. Conventional metal hooks may be dipped in a liquid plastic, rubber, or similar material that cures to form a resilient coating for safe handling.

By securing the ring on the opener over the stopper top and the lower jaw of the opener under the bottom edge of the stopper, a consumer can easily and safely lift the stopper out of the bottle. The gas in these beverages can be released slowly and safely with this opener. For beverage containers with smaller tabs the tab itself breaks the seal after being levered by the hand-operated tool.
