Abstract: A combined opener for removing a twist-off bottle cap and the lift-off tab of a beverage can. The opener body is provided with a downwardly opening recess formed with protuberances adapted to complementarily mate with the knurls of a twist-off bottle cap.
Abstract: An adaptor for ground glass joints or couplings for laboratory glassware includes a Teflon body member having male and female coupling portions and a retracting nut threadably mounted on one end of the coupling member for engaging the end of a female joint member for retraction of the male member therefrom. An alternate embodiment comprises a Teflon stopper having a retracting nut.
Abstract: A rotary evaporator shaft having tapered coupling surfaces for coupling to a rotary drive and to a container includes an extracting device disposed between the tapered coupling joints and moveable into engagement with a selected one of the container or the drive means for extracting the coupling therefrom with the shaft constructed of a synthetic resin polymer such as that sold under the trademark TEFLON.
Abstract: An opener apparatus for beverage cans having an opener tab provided on the top wall includes an elongated tool having a hook portion at the forward end and a handle portion at the rearward end. The hook portion extends forwardly from the handle portion a and then downwardly and rearwardly to define a channel adapted to receive the opener tab for lifting the tab and opening the can in response to lifting movement of the tool when a force is applied to the handle portion. A leg member may be extended downwardly from the tool and positioned for simultaneously depressing the scored section of the can top wall into the can and providing a fulcrum for lifting movement of the hook portion in response to downward movement of the handle portion.
Abstract: An apparatus for removing corks accidently forced into wine bottles is disclosed comprising an elongated probe having an end that projects outwardly from the probe and which is adapted to fit under corks so that they may be removed without any substantial fragmentation. A handle is provided on the probe which allows it to be manipulated with one hand.
