Abstract: A gripping device with a precision ratcheting mechanism includes an upper and a lower arm, each terminating in a U-shaped receiver, connected by a pair of pivotal joints. A pawl device is pivotally connected to the U-shaped receiver of the upper arm, while a post, passing through the pawl device, is pivotally connected to the lower arm. The post contains a plurality of teeth on one surface and a teeth-engaging member in the pawl device contains a plurality of corresponding teeth which engage the teeth on the post. The teeth are disengaged by pressing a release surface, which compresses a spring and physically moves the teeth-engaging structure away from the post, allowing the post to move freely within the pawl device.

Abstract: An electrically powered corkscrew has an inclined handle of high ergonomic character to enable convenient and effective use when standing or seated, while ensuring a corkscrew of compact arrangement. The corkscrew has a de-briding cutter concealed in the butt of the handle for removing the usual foil seal from the cork. The cork extracting mechanism includes a dual purpose cork-stabilizing arrangement, including a pair of compression springs and guide posts to assist in countering rotation of the cork, and in assisting reverse operation of the corkscrew auger when discarding the cork.

Abstract: A corkscrew has a body having a central part and an end part, a helix provided at the central part of the body, an end arm provided on the end part of the body, the end arm having an end provided with a first fulcrum and an internal medium part provided with a mechanism for forming an intermediate auxiliary fulcrum under the action of a manual drive of a user to facilitate a drawing action on a cork in which the helix has been introduced.

Abstract: Corkscrew (10) with a fitting (16) to shear tinfoil, plastic or other caps (17) on the upper part of the neck (18) of bottles (14) possibly including a collar, the corkscrew (10) comprising an at least partly flat grip (11) having a possible zone to contain a drawing screw (12), an element to anchor the drawing screw (12) and a short supporting element (13), cutting fitting (16) being included and consisting of small shearing wheel (22) cooperating with recess (19), which are substantially coherent with the outer diameter of the neck (18) of the bottle (14) and are associated with positioning and guide members (19-20-30-23) cooperating with the upper part of the neck (18) of the bottle (14).

Abstract: An apparatus for removing a soft stopper such as a cork from a container such as a bottle. The apparatus includes a hollow cylinder having one or more slits along its length and a handle attached to the top of the cylinder. The interior surface of the cylinder includes one or more spiral wound threads having a flat upper surface. The cylinder is inserted between the outer circumference of the cork and the interior wall of the bottle and is rotated so that the threads are embedded in the outer wall of the cork and serve to compress the cork inwardly as the apparatus is screwed into the container. A stop ring serves to limit the penetration of the apparatus into the bottle and when the apparatus has reached its maximum penetration, the apparatus begins to force the cork out of the bottle as the turning motion of the cork continues. Various embellishments serve to enhance the efficiency of operation of the device.

Abstract: Corkscrew of the type having folding tools (2,3) in a handle (4), such as a screw-type means of insertion in a cork (2) and a fulcrum lever extension means such as counter-lever (3) having a slot seat for crown caps as well, and the additional function of supporting by a notched end on the inside ledge of the bottle's neck together with said means of screw insertion (2), both hinged to one end of the handle at a convenient distance from each other, characterized in that:the handle (4) is in plastic material, andthe fulcrum lever extension means such as counter-lever (3) is of a semitubular form having a slot seat (3") through its back with an undercut to engage a crown cap, and the handle (4) being equipped with a hollow complementary with the slot so as to make it actively usable whether the counter-lever is closed or is completely open in alignment, or nearly so, with the handle (4).
