Having U-shaped Crank Arm Patents (Class 81/35)
  • Patent number: 11255666
Abstract: A level that is attached to the drill bit. It is on a bar that allows the level to be offset from the drill bit so that it is visible by the operator. The bar has a bearing in it that allows the bit to spin freely while holding the level in a set position. The level has a ball that centers in a ring when it is level and plumb. To use the device, after it is installed in a drill, the operator adjusts the position of the drill until the ball is in the center of the ring. Then, the drill bit is plumb and the hold will be true. The operator merely has to watch the level and adjust the drill as needed to maintain plumb to ensure a true hole.

  • Patent number: 8746111
Abstract: A wrench assembly is mounted on a drill rig so as to have some freedom of movement in three axes. The wrench assembly includes a wrench subassembly having an upper wrench and a lower wrench. Both the upper wrench and the lower wrench are provided with jaw assemblies that are adapted to grip a pipe section or to release it. One of the upper wrench and lower wrench is pivotally moveable with respect to the other to apply a twisting force to a pipe section gripped by one of the upper and lower wrenches with respect to an adjacent pipe section gripped by the other of the upper and lower wrenches. The wrench assembly also includes a generally planar support table. The wrench subassembly is attached to the support table in such a manner as to allow the wrench subassembly to pivot about an axis that is perpendicular to the plane of the support table, and in such a manner as to allow the wrench subassembly to tilt with respect to the plane of the support table.

  • Patent number: 6095018
Abstract: A rotary driver providing continuous uninterrupted rotation, which allows the user to install rotary fasteners without the tedious and potentially harmful long term effects of twisting the wrist. The tool comprises a handle of the size and shape to comfortably fit in a hand of a operator, connected to a tool shank which extends axially therefrom. The shank carries a tool tip at its distal end. The handle also incorporates a lever arm that extends outward from the longitudinal axis of the shank. A free spinning lever arm handle is mounted at its extended end creating a crank arm assembly for the rotary driver. This assembly is attached to the handle by a pivot at its end. The assembly can then be rotated from a stored position in a handle pocket to a extended working position. When the crank arm assembly is in the stored position, the rotary driver appears and functions like a traditional screwdriver.

  • Patent number: 6070505
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a P-handle extraction tool for removing and/or installing a tubular member when access to the external surface of the tubular member is restricted. The tool uses a P-shaped handle to orient the grip of the tool approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tubular member to be removed or installed that is engaged by the tool. Thus oriented, the tubular member is rotated by rotating the grip about the axis of rotation of the tubular member. The handle design also provides for the attachment of a torque arm, thereby allowing the user to generate additional torque necessary to remove tightly fitted tubular members.

  • Patent number: 5833217
Abstract: A double throw crank handle for a nautical winch has a first lever extending radially out from a winch axis and having a first grip at the outward end. A second lever is connected to the outward end of the first lever and extends parallel back over the winch axis to locate an opposite end a similar radially offset distance from the winch axis. A second grip extends up from the second lever opposite end. A locking mechanism to hold the crank handle in the winch socket is mounted below the first lever plug end. Counterbalanced two handed cranking about a winch axis is executed in winding the winch using the double throw crank handle.

  • Patent number: 4052593
Abstract: A device for electrically heating thermoplastic articles includes a housing having means for receiving the article in position to be heated. An infrared generator in the form of a tungsten halogen lamp is located in the housing and a split, out-of-phase parabolic reflector system is provided for directing the radiation from the lamp onto plural sides of the article. A blower in the housing provides a flow of cooling air over the lamp and reflector system. A thermal control means responsive to the combination of radiant heat absorbed from the lamp and the cooling effect of the flow of air is provided for cycling the lamp on and off to control the radiant energy emitted therefrom. The lamp may be surrounded by a foraminous thermal converter which allows some of the direct radiation from the lamp to filter through to be directed to the article and interrupts and absorbs the remainder of the radiation converting it to heat which is picked up by the air flow for delivery to the article being heated.
