  • Patent number: 11179838
Abstract: An improved parallel-jaws locking wrench/plier with toggle action includes a body element, a fixed jaw, and a moving jaw capable of moving rectilinearly by means of an action cam, which is pivotally connected to a locking lever coupling respectively to the upper ends of a fulcrum bar and a releasing lever thereof. A handle secured to the body element has an axially adjustable element to regulate the opening of the jaws. Close to the pivot of the releasing lever are two outstanding members disposed respectively opposite sides thereof. Gripping the locking lever towards the handle till being stopped by the two outstanding members hitting said handle will toggle continuous gripping/clamping action on a workpiece. Gripping the releasing lever towards the handle will render the two outstanding members to serve as fulcrums, providing the former with leverage to force the toggle linkage back to its relaxing condition to release the workpiece. The releasing action requires only one hand.

  • Patent number: 9010222
Abstract: A hand operated gripping tool includes a first jaw unit having a first work piece engaging portion, a support member extending generally transversely with respect to the first jaw unit, a first handle at the second end of the support member, a second jaw unit having a second work piece engaging portion, and a second handle having an end portion pivotally attached at the second jaw unit. A guiding device is disposed at the end portion of the second handle. The guiding device has an engaging element and a biasing element, and the engaging element is biased or urged toward and into engagement with the second reaction surface by the biasing element. The engaging element engages the second reaction surface as the second jaw unit moves along the support member to adjust the size of the work piece receiving space.

Abstract: A pliers with quickly adjustable gripping jaws includes a first jaw and a second jaw. The first jaw is deposited on a first hand shaft. The second jaw is pivoted on a second hand shaft. An adjusting set is set up between the hand shafts. The adjusting set includes a control lever and a sliding lever. The control lever has first teeth and the sliding lever has second teeth. The first and second teeth are engaging with each other. An elastic member is located between the control lever and the second hand shaft. A spring is locked between the sliding lever and the second hand shaft. The elastic member and the spring are serving for control lever and sliding lever to back their beginning respectively. Therefore, a user only clamps the hand shafts of the pliers to adjust the gripping jaws quickly in order to clamp objects with different sizes.

  • Patent number: 6164107
Abstract: A crimping tool capable of forming a uniform series of deformations or crimps on a workpiece, such that at least a portion of the workpiece can be modified to acquire an arcuate shape with a predetermined radius. The crimping tool includes a pair of arms and an associated pair of jaws. The tool further includes an adjustment feature associated with one of the arms for adjusting and gaging the distance between the jaws when in a crimping position. As such, the degree of deformation or crimping that can be applied by the jaws is positively limited by the adjustment feature, which physically establishes the minimum gap width between the jaws during a crimping operation. The jaws include die members specially configured to promote accurately placed and uniform crimps in a workpiece.

The side-facing cutouts are sized to allow the enlarged head of a stopper to be inserted laterally into the grip. A crescent shaped cam is pivotally mounted to the extension and bears against the outer surface of the closed end. A handle is used to pivot the cam which pulls the grip axially upwardly. A spring, between the grip and the housing, biases the grip axially toward the open housing end. The extractor is mounted over the stopper with the open end against the container and the grip lip under the lower edge of the cork head. Rocking the handle pivots the cam to raise the grip.

  • Patent number: 4507988
Abstract: An opener for assisting in the opening of beverage cans of the type having a pull-up tab which levers a scored closure segment of the lid down into the can and beverage bottles of the type having a twist-off cap. The opener has an elongated body with a can tab actuator at one end and bottle cap torqueing structure at the other end. The tab actuator is bent or inclined relative to the main body of the opener so that the main body provides a down-turned handle for operating the tab actuator, while the tab actuator provides a down-turned handle for operating the cap torqueing structure. The tab actuating structure has opposed, open-sided lower and upper jaws, with a longitudinally arranged rib on the upper jaw defining both a narrow, tab-gripping notch between the jaws and a lead-in ramp for guiding a tab into the notch.

  • Patent number: 4274312
Abstract: A parallel jaw action toggle wrench comprising a first jaw rigidly fixed to a first handle by means of a track section, a second jaw opposite the first jaw and slidable on the track section, and pivotally connected to a second handle, a toggle link connected to the second handle rearwardly of the first jaw, a connector pivotally attached to the rearward end of the toggle link and moveable along the first handle and a threaded assembly mounted on the first handle and having an adjustment portion, the threaded assembly being so operatively correlated with respect to the connector that operation of said adjustment portion will cause the connector to move lengthwise of the first handle.
