Abstract: A pair of universal pliers includes a fixed structure, a movable structure movably connected to the fixed structure and including front and rear movable handle plates, and a quick release mechanism including a trigger and a resilient locking subunit. The resilient locking subunit includes a movable pin inserted through and slidable along a first guide slot of the front movable handle plate and a second guide slot of the rear movable handle plate. The resilient locking subunit is switchable between a locked state where the rear movable handle plate cannot pivot relative to the front movable handle plate and a non-locked state where the rear movable handle plate can pivot relative to the front movable handle plate.
Abstract: A c-clamp locking device has been specially modified to depress brake drum springs while the brake shoes are replaced. The device has opposing c-clamp jaws, one of which has a blunt end for compression against the surface of the brake drum, and the other of which has a ring for compressing the brake drum spring. The jaws are adjustable relative to each other. A locking mechanism enables the device to lock in place when the brake drum spring is appropriately compressed, allowing the mechanic to use both hands unencumbered when replacing brake shoes.

Abstract: A manually operated tool for terminating electrical conductors to insulation displacement contacts in a connector. The tool includes a connector holder and a pair of hingeable jigs for holding and positioning the conductors adjacent the connector terminals for shearing to length and inserting. Shearing and insertion assemblies are secured to two arms which are pivoted toward the connector until the assemblies engage and terminate the conductors. A pair of handles and a pair of toggle links are pivotally attached to the two arms for effecting a mechanical advantage during the shearing and insertion process.
Abstract: Improved locking wrenches are provided with adjustment screws having a head portion and a flange extension associated with the lower handle. A locking element is provided which serves to lockably engage a restraining element associated with one of the adjustment screw and the flange extension. In this manner, inadvertent release of the clamping force exerted between jaws of the wrench may be prevented since the lower handle is restrained from moving into its opened stated relative to the upper handle.
Abstract: An apparatus wherein a pivoted jaw structure is provided, with spaced relatively pivotal mounted support pins for securing a locking type ring in a fixed relationship, the tool includes a fixed lever with a pivoted jaw mounted thereto, wherein the pivot jaw includes a locking and release lever arrangement associated with the pivoted jaw to lock the spaced support pins in a fixed relationship.
