  • Patent number: 9220542
Abstract: A polyaxial driver system for inserting and setting the angular orientation of an implant includes an elongated component and a distal component. The elongated component extends along a main axis and includes an elongated tubular sheath and an elongated shaft disposed within the tubular sheath. The distal component is pivotally connected to a distal end of the elongated shaft and includes a tubular body extending along the main axis and a spherical head dimensioned to fit and move freely within the tubular body. A proximal end of the elongated shaft includes a first set of outer threads and a proximal end of the elongated tubular sheath includes inner threads shaped and dimensioned to engage the first set of outer threads of the elongated shaft. Rotating the elongated tubular sheath clockwise or counter-clockwise moves the elongated shaft forward or backward along the main axis, respectively.

  • Patent number: 8968564
Abstract: A filter turning mechanism is attached to an engine in proximity to a filter (such as an oil filter), and may be used to install or remove a filter by turning the filter. The filter turning mechanism contacts a filter, and rotates the filter when the filter turning mechanism is rotated with a tool. One implementation of the filter turning mechanism includes an inner drive gear and a filter drive mechanism. The inner drive gear normally spins freely within the filter drive mechanism, but when pushed into the filter drive mechanism with a suitable tool such as a ratchet extension, the inner drive gear engages the filter drive mechanism, thereby causing rotation of the inner drive gear to rotate the filter drive mechanism as well, which in turn rotates the filter.

  • Patent number: 8413549
Abstract: A revolving screwdriver with ratchet structure includes a handle, a pushing rod, and a sliding member. The sliding member has a receiving space and a holding chamber defined therein. A revolving cylinder is received in the holding chamber. The receiving space receives at least one ratchet wheel, two rotators, a limiting member, a base, and an adjuster. The at least one ratchet wheel engages with a driving shaft. The rotators selectively engage with the at least one ratchet wheel. The limiting member locates between the rotators and has a protrusion formed thereon. A base has a first guiding slot defined therein. The adjuster has a driving hole defined therein. The protrusion passes through the first guiding slot and the driving hole for being driven by the adjuster and moving along the first guiding slot.

  • Patent number: 6973860
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved split-tip screwdriver. The split-tip screwdriver of the present invention prevents the movable sleeve from detaching from the remainder of the screwdriver by incorporating a retention rim on both the sleeve and the handle. The split-tip screwdriver also provides an extended portion on the sleeve that covers the elongated members and insulates the elongated members when the sleeve is extended from the handle to minimize the possibility of a user inadvertently being shocked by electricity conducted through the elongated members.

  • Patent number: 6640673
Abstract: A spark plug tube removal tool includes a cylindrical body member and an attached wedge member which may be driven by a bolt against the body member to alter the effective diameter of the tool upon insertion into a spark plug tube so as to wedge the tool within the tube and permit removal of the tube from an engine by turning or working the tool engine block.

  • Patent number: 6435064
Abstract: A frost proof sill cock extraction tool for removing a broken sill cock. The frost proof sill cock extraction tool includes a bar. The bar is elongate and has a distal end and a proximal end. A peripheral wall extends between and is integrally coupled to the distal and proximal ends. The bar is generally hollow and has a hole extending through the distal and proximal ends. An outer surface of the peripheral wall positioned adjacent to the distal end is knurled. The bar has a break therein located generally adjacent to the distal end such that a first portion and a second portion of the bar is defined. The first portion abuts the distal end. The break extends from the peripheral wall to a point generally adjacent to the distal end in an angular relationship to a longitudinal axis of the bar. An inside surface of the first portion is threaded. A rod is elongate and has a first end and a second end. The rod has a threaded outer surface.

  • Patent number: 6125726
Abstract: A tool 32 is used to assemble a spark plug insert 24 within an oversize threaded passage 26 of an engine block 20. The tool 32 includes a mandrel 48 which is formed with a threaded extension 60, and also includes a pliable bushing 34 having a cylindrical section 36, a flange 38 at one end thereof and a passage 40. A nut 44 is embedded in the pliable bushing 34 and is formed with threads 46 which are in axial alignment with the passage 40 of the pliable bushing 34. The threaded extension 60 is inserted into the passage 40 of the pliable bushing 34 and into threaded engagement with the nut 44. The cylindrical section 36 is inserted into an inner opening of the insert 24 and the mandrel 48 is rotated relative to the pliable bushing 34 to draw the nut 44 toward the flanged end of the bushing.
