  • Patent number: 11819983
Abstract: A torque structure includes a first body, a second body, a first elastic member, a retaining unit, an adjusting unit, a mobile unit, and a display unit. The second body has a first guide slot. The first body is rotated relative to the second body to drive the adjusting unit to rotate and move relative to the retaining unit to adjust the torque value. The mobile unit is received in the second body and aligns with the first guide slot. The mobile unit is mounted between the first elastic member and the adjusting unit. The first body drives the adjusting unit which moves the mobile unit which adjusts the compression extent of the first elastic member to adjust the torque value. The display unit display unit detects a position of the mobile unit and indicates a torque value.

  • Patent number: 7021179
Abstract: The power screwdriver comprises a functional part (11) with a housing (14) through which a shaft (17) passes. The shaft (17) is provided with a toothing (18), into which a ratchet lever of the functional part (11) engages. A splined shaft toothing (20) of the shaft (17) has an insertion recess (21) that changes into a cavity (22). The wall of the cavity (22) is provided with a torsion sensor (23) and forms a measuring section (25) that is located in the area of the shaft (17) covered by the housing (14). A torsion measurement is effected in the measuring section (25). Due to the measuring section (25) being located in the area of the shaft covered by the housing (14), the shaft (17) is relatively short whereby it may be used under tight spatial screwing conditions involving a low head height above the screw. The power wrench is additionally provided with an angle measuring device (33) whereby torque and angle of rotation can be simultaneously provided and can be used for controlling and recording.

  • Patent number: 6948410
Abstract: A torque wrench is provided having body and a handle that is rotatably mounted to the body for adjusting the torque setting, and an axially movable sleeve operable to selectively lock the handle. The sleeve includes a rigid member and an elastomeric member, such as an O-ring, and the sleeve is configured to act against a locking ball held in a bore of the handle. The sleeve is selectively movable between two positions: (a) a locked position wherein the rigid member firmly retains the locking ball seated in one of several detents in the body, thereby preventing rotation of the handle; and (b) an unlocked position wherein the elastomeric member biases the locking ball inwardly, deflecting when the locking ball unseats from the detent to permit handle rotation. When the sleeve is in the unlocked position, the locking ball can incrementally “click” over the detents during handle rotation.

  • Patent number: 6886434
Abstract: A wrench includes a drive member for driving a fastener, a retainer securely engaged with the drive member to move therewith, and a casing having a compartment for accommodating the retainer. The casing includes a retaining section defining a retaining space for retaining the retainer in place. When a rotational force applied to the casing is smaller than an engaging force between the retaining section of the casing and a retaining device that is attached between the retaining section and the retainer, the retainer and the rod are turned to thereby turn the fastener. When a rotational force applied to the casing is greater than the engaging force, the casing slides while the retainer and the rod are not turned. The drive member is releasably engaged with the retainer, allowing the wrench to be used with various types of drive members for driving various types of fasteners.

Abstract: A tool is used to limit the torque applied to tighten the threaded connection of prosthesis components placed in skeletal bones, for example dental implants. The device has a handle, a retaining screw, a single use torque limiting shear pin and a drive shaft. The handle has a tapered counter sunk cross bore with left handed threads to allow installation of a drive shaft which engages a torque limiting shear pin which, in turn, engages a left hand threaded retaining screw. The drive shaft extends from the handle to engage any threaded fastener that has a head that corresponds to the drive shaft end. The drive shaft and the shear zone of the shear pin are completely isolated within the wrench handle so that all rotational force is utilized in the actual shearing of the shear pin to a torque accuracy of ±0.3 Mcm, approximately.

  • Patent number: 6463834
Abstract: A tang engaging and stability structure has a tang engaging portion and a pair of stabilizing ear members spaced apart from one another in the direction of the pivot axis. The ear members are positioned on opposing sides of a rear end portion of the tang structure to restrict movement of the tang structure rear end portion generally in the axial direction of the pivot axis. During a torque applying operation, a force applied to the wrench body is transmitted as torque to a fastener removably engaged with the head and tends to pivot the casing structure relative to the drive structure about the pivot axis. When a torsional resistance offered by the fastener reaches a threshold level determined by the biasing force, the force being applied to the wrench body pivots the casing structure relative to the drive structure to the torque exceeded position to generate the torque exceeded signal.
