Abstract: A finger-operable phacoemulsification (“phaco”) needle wrench includes a base that receives a fastening head of a phaco needle. A hollow finger grip extends from the base for at least as long as the portion of the needle extending distally from the fastening head. The grip has asymmetric lobes directed generally outwardly from the grip's central axis. The lobes provide a tightening torque to the needle fastening head in response to a tightening force applied to the lobes by fingers of a user securing the needle to a phaco handpiece. The lobes provide a loosening torque to the needle fastening head in response to a loosening force applied to the lobes by fingers removing the needle from the phaco handpiece. The loosening torque is greater than the tightening torque because of the asymmetric profile of the lobes.

Abstract: A power ratchet head is composed of a main body and a reinforcing rib. The main body is hollow inside and includes a pair of stopping portions, a receiving space, and a first through hole. The stopping portions are spaced from each other, extending outward from one end of the main body. The receiving space is formed between the two stopping portions. The first through hole runs through one of the stopping portions. The reinforcing rib is connected between the two stopping portions and located at free ends of the stopping portions, having a width that is smaller than the radius of the first through hole. The reinforcing rib is connected with the free ends of the stopping portions to structurally reinforce the main body, such that the stopping portions are not subject to outward deformation and the working life of the power ratchet head can be enhanced.

Abstract: A screwdriving tool includes a gear head and a drive arm. The gear head forms a gear housing, in which a free wheel or ratchet gear having an output rotational axis is arranged. A front side of the gear head includes an output coupling, in the shape of a polygon. The drive arm can be pivoted about a pivot axis, which is substantially transverse to the output rotational axis, from a quick-action screwdriver position, in which the drive arm is in the output rotational axis, into a power-action screwdriver position, in which the drive arm extends substantially transversely to the output rotational axis and can be fixed in both pivot positions by detents. The detents can be moved from a detent position into a release position by means of an actuating member associated with the drive arm.

Abstract: A drive system cooperating with the drive mechanism of a ratchet wrench enables a user to use the wrench for its intended purpose and also spin the drive at high speed by pulling an endless belt. The belt is contained in a manner which causes structures on the belt to engage with exposed gear teeth of the ratchet wrench or an attachment. The containment structure provides for proper alignment and positioning of the belt to allow for the desired engagement with the drive teeth even after the user releases grip from the belt. The containment structure further allows an opposite end of the belt to hang loose and thus be easily accessible by a user. The drive system can be used on a socket ratchet without exposed teeth by adding gear teeth to a ratchet drive member or socket either permanently, as an added part or as an extension to the socket ratchet or socket.
