    Abstract: An assembly for cutting a meat or food product passing along a path of travel comprising a cutting roller having a plurality of cutting blades radially mounted thereon. A mating assembly interacts with the cutting blades to accomplish a multipoint cutting procedure facilitated by the concurrent rotation of the cutting roller and cutting blades as well as a linear reciprocal travel thereof transverse to the path of travel. A stabilizing assembly restricts the dimensional variance of the spacing between the cutting roller and mating assembly, through which the meat product travels and an ejecting assembly removes cut portions from the cutting blades, back onto the path of travel. The assembly includes a modular construction disposal within and removal from a processing line associated with the path of travel.

    Abstract: It is intended to improve work efficiency by eliminating the work of attaching and removing push rods during installing and dismounting the a blade mount and also to reduce abrasion of the push rods for pushing punching scrap out of a punching blade. The first push rods 18 are inserted movably in the first through-holes 16 formed in the knife cylinder and the second push rods 36 are inserted movably in the second through-holes 34 formed in the blade mount to permit the second push rods 36 to be abutted on the first push rods 18. A scrap push lever 30 is mounted on the outer end of the second push rod 36 to push out the punching scrap a and an eccentric cylinder 14 is provided inside of the knife cylinder 10 to push the first push rod 18 outward when pushing out the punching scrap a. The stroke of the first push rod 18 is controlled so that the outer end 18a of the first push rod 18 does not project from the outer periphery 10a of the knife cylinder.

    Abstract: A workpiece blanking apparatus has a die, a pad for holding a plate of metal on the die, a blanking punch for depressing the plate on the die downwardly of the die to blank a workpiece out of the plate, and a counterpunch vertically movably disposed in the die in confronting relationship to the blanking punch and movable downwardly with the workpiece blanked by the blanking punch. A counterpunch urging device normally urges the counterpunch upwardly, and a holding mechanism holds the counterpunch in a lowered position after the workpiece is blanked by the blanking punch until the blanking punch is spaced from the workpiece, the pad is spaced from the plate, and the blanking punch and the pad are lifted to a predetermined position. The holding mechanism releases the counterpunch in the lowered position and allows the counterpunch to displace the workpiece out of the die when the blanking punch and the pad are lifted to the predetermined position.

    Abstract: A punch assembly is provided with a positive retraction mechanism to remove the punch from the media to be punched, thereby preventing binding of the punch in the media. The punch assembly includes a driving mechanism to provide a driving force on the punch and a positive retraction mechanism disposed to provide a retraction force on the punch operative sequentially following operation of the driving mechanism. The punch assembly, which is of a smaller size and more economical to manufacture, is particularly useful with an imagesetter of a prepress printing system. The punch may be mounted in a cantilever manner to punch the opening as close to the edge of the media as possible without interfering with the laser beam of the imaging assembly. In this maimer, the area of media available for imaging may be maximized and media waste minimized. Additionally, a shaft support mechanism is provided for the shaft upon which the retraction mechanism for each punch is mounted.

The scrap knockout is so arranged that each of the punch blades is formed with a cut or slot, and a scrap knockout lever is engaged with the cut or slot so as to be restricted in its upward and downward movements, with one end of the knockout lever is a free end located in the space surrounded by the punch blade and the other end is pivotally held by a punch blade support, so that the scrap formed by the punching can be removed by the upward motion of the lever.
