Abstract: The present invention relates to a skin treatment apparatus using plasma. A plasma generator (400) comprises an electrode plate (420), an upper dielectric body (430), independent electrode portions (440) and a lower dielectric body (450). The independent electrode portion is an FPCB or a silver paste positioned a fixed distance away. According to the present invention, the electrode portions each independently work and thus prevent unevenness of plasma and enable the plasma to be generated evenly. According to the present invention, the plasma generator having such configuration is easily formed into a convex shape, and a convex plasma generator is suitable for a curved skin object such as the palm. The convex plasma generator can generate more even plasma and is particularly more effective for a long cylindrical object to be treated, such as the woman's vagina.

Abstract: A machining system includes a support configured to retain an article, such as a rotor disk, having an area, such as a surface of a slot in the disk. A cutting tool, for example, a broach, is movable relative to the support to cut the area. A heating member, such as a laser, is configured to locally heat the area of the article. In one example, the cutting tool includes a body having a cutting edge. The heating member is supported by the body and is configured to provide heat adjacent to the cutting edge. The cutting edge cuts the locally heated area while the area is still heated.

Abstract: A device such as an MEMS device is fabricated by cutting a laminate of a semiconductor substrate and a glass substrate. Grooves are formed in the glass substrate, and the semiconductor substrate and the glass substrate are laminated together such that the groove faces the semiconductor substrate. The laminated substrates are irradiated with a laser along the groove from the side of the glass substrate. In this way, the laminate is cut into elements.

Abstract: A fabric material has a base fabric, a pile layer on a surface of the base fabric, and an adhesive layer of a hot-melt adhesive on another surface of the base fabric. The adhesive layer contains a wax whose melting point Tm1 is from 20° C. to 50° C. lower than the melting point Tm2 of the base polymer. The fabric material is heated by a heating device to at least (Tm1+5)° C. and (Tm2?5)° C., and then cut by a ultrasonic wave cutter 23. Thus the fabric material can be cut without generating the chaffs of the adhesive agent and the fiber offscums. As a result, the pollution is not made in the cutting process, and the cutting of the fabric material is made continuously and stably. Without the adhesion of the chaffs, the teremp which has a good surface formed by the cutting.

Abstract: A method of cutting a rare-earth alloy with a wire saw, obtained by fixing abrasive grains on a core wire with a resin layer, includes the step of moving the wire saw while a portion of the rare-earth alloy being machined with the wire saw is immersed in a coolant, which is mainly composed of water and has a surface tension of about 25 mN/m to about 60 mN/m at about 25° C., thereby cutting the rare-earth alloy. In the wire saw, an average distance between two of the abrasive grains, which are adjacent to each other in a length direction, is about 150% to less than about 400% of the average grain size of the abrasive grains, an average height of portions of the abrasive grains, protruding from the surface of the resin layer, is about 70% or less of the average grain size of the abrasive grains, and a thickness deviation percentage of the resin layer with respect to the core wire is about 40%.

  • Patent number: 6829910
Abstract: A method for forming a magnetic disk comprises the following steps. First, an inner and outer cut is provided in a work piece. The waste piece thus comprises an outer waste piece, an inner waste piece, and a region between the inner and outer waste pieces that is to be used as a substrate for manufacturing a magnetic disk. The outer waste piece is separated from the substrate by applying a hot plate against the outer waste piece, thereby causing it to thermally expand and separate from the substrate. The substrate is then placed over (but not in contact with) a hot plate, while a cooling element is placed on the inner waste piece. This causes the substrate to thermally expand while the inner waste piece thermally contracts. Thus, a gap forms between the substrate and inner waste piece, thereby permitting the separation of the inner waste piece from the substrate.
