Patent number: 8176618Abstract: A solid electrolyte body is placed on and fixed to an upper plate of a press jig such that a major surface (an upper surface) of the solid electrolyte body faces one major surface of a guide plate having an open space. The upper plate is rotated by a transfer mechanism to incline the solid electrolyte body in one direction, and the inclined solid electrolyte body is moved toward the other major surface of the guide plate such that a first edge of the solid electrolyte body protrudes from the open space. Then, a cutter is slid along the other major surface, so that the first edge is chamfered to form a first chamfered portion.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2008Date of Patent: May 15, 2012Assignee: NGK Insulators, Ltd.Inventors: Yoshio Suzuki, Kouji Tagawa, Kunihiko Nakagaki

Patent number: 5018417Abstract: The graphic tape slicer comprises a frame having a feed guide at the rear end for receiving the graphic tape from a roll. A cutting blade is mounted in the center of the frame on a traveling blade holder that engages a threaded rod. Rollers through which the tape is extracted are mounted on the front of the frame. The extraction rollers are joined by a pulley arrangement to the threaded rod. When the graphic tape is extracted from the slicer, the front drive rollers rotate which, through the action of the pulleys, causes the threaded rod to rotate. This causes the blade to move along the threads of the threaded rod. This movement effects the cutting blade to move across the width of the graphic tape causing a resulting length of graphic tape being cut at an oblique angle. By disengaging the pulley arrangement, the blade can be positioned in a fixed location along the length of the threaded rod which will result in a straight cut along the length of the graphic tape.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 1989Date of Patent: May 28, 1991Inventor: Larry V. Patent number: 4048885Abstract: A method and apparatus for cutting a continuously moving sheet material in which a nozzle for directing a jet stream of fluid under high pressure is driven in predetermined directions along a closed track consisting of a pair of straight paths intersecting each other symmetrically at a predetermined angle relative to the cutting direction of the sheet material and a pair of curved paths connecting the associated ends of the straight paths. In the method and apparatus, the moving velocity of the jet nozzle is controlled as a function of the feeding velocity of the sheet material and the desired length of sheets cut from the sheet material, and the energy of the fluid under high pressure directed from the moving jet nozzle toward the sheet material is utilized to cut the sheet material into the sheets of desired length.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 1976Date of Patent: September 20, 1977Assignee: Ichiro MiyakitaInventors: Hiroshi Miyakita, Ichiro Miyakita
