Abstract: The electromechanical vertical cutting shear (1) comprises an electric servomotor (4) combined with a gear reducer (5) at least one shaft (6) bearing one or more spools (7), at least one motion transmission means (8) which is connected to a guillotine (11), and a cutting system comprising at least a pair of knives (12). The electromechanical shear (1) comprises a pulley system (9) for every motion transmission means (8).
Abstract: A portable stand for cutting timber has a base, a vertical support structure mounted upon the base and defining with the base a first functional area for resting timber thereupon to be cut. On the opposite side of the vertical support structure there is defined with the base a second functional area for an operator to be located. A beam is mounted horizontally upon and parallel to the vertical support structure. A chainsaw mount is pivotally disposed upon the beam for removably receiving a chainsaw, the chainsaw mount adapted for movement along the axis of the beam. A clamp arm clamps onto timber disposed upon the first functional area for resting timber.
Abstract: An improvement is set forth in a sawing apparatus having a table supporting a workpiece, a fence for guiding the workpiece and an operator moveable electrically operated saw having a first normally biased off switch controlling application of electric power to the apparatus, the switch being positioned to be controlled by the hand of an operator which controls movement of the saw. The improvement comprises a second normally biased off switch connected in series with the first normally biased off switch, the second switch being mounted adjacent to the fence a sufficient distance from the saw blade to prevent the saw blade from contacting the operator's off hand when the off hand is activating the second switch and in a position whereat the off hand can, simultaneously with activating the second switch, adjust the position of the workpiece along the fence.
