  • Patent number: 10967445
Abstract: A lubrication system for a saw may include a lubricator that is mechanically linked to a traveling arm of a saw, such as an up-cut saw. Movement of the saw blade through a first path may result automatically in movement of the lubricator through a second path transverse to the first path. This coupled movement may result in a relatively consistent distance between the lubricator and the periphery of the saw blade, especially as compared with a stationary lubricator.

  • Patent number: 5307715
Abstract: A punching arrangement has a guide assembly for guiding movement of a second die at an acute angle relative to a first die in order to punch an aperture at an acute angle in a flange of a track shoes. A positioning device moves the track shoe to a preselected location relative to the first die in response to movement of the second die toward the first die. A holding apparatus engages the track shoe and clamps the track shoe to the first die in response to further movement of the second die toward the first die. A crank mechanism breaks the second die away from binding engagement with the track shoe after punching and enables the second die to return to the initial position. The punching arrangement is particularly suited for use in a punching press.

  • Patent number: 5301584
Abstract: The present invention is a pair of split dies comprises of a pair of fixed die halves, with each fixed die half having an associating movable die insert. The pair of split dies are separated from each other in order to admit a cutting blade therebetween and a variable width opening is formed between each of the fixed die halves and their associating movable die inserts. The movable die inserts move toward the fixed die halves and thereby decrease the width of the openings in response to cam means attaching to the blade which engage movable cam tracks located on the movable die inserts opposite the openings. The openings close on tubing located within the openings so that the tubing is held stationary on either side of where the blade cuts the tubing. The movable die inserts move away from the fixed die halves and thereby increase the width of the openings in response to disengagement with the cam means.

  • Patent number: 5267496
Abstract: A hydraulically actuated tire cutter includes a first conveyor belt which loads a tire into a tire cutting position between a fixed plate, a moving plate and a plurality of adjustable bars. Twelve corresponding pairs of gripping jaws project from the fixed and moving plate. The gripping jaws have a saw tooth edge. Each pair of gripping jaws of the fixed and moving plate are in registration with one another to compress the tire until one of the tire's beads essentially touches the other. Twelve blades attached to a blade plate are hydraulically actuated to pass through a passage in the moving plate and the fixed plate to radially cut the tire. After the tire has been cut, a second conveyor belt removes the pieces of tire from the bottom portion of the tire cutter.

  • Patent number: 5235887
Abstract: A cutter apparatus having a fixed blade in an opening of a paper feeding guide; and a movable blade having a cutting portion which enters into the opening. A paper holding plate is provided on the movable blade slidably in the cutting direction. The distal end of the paper holding plate is kept projected by a sliding mechanism in the cutting direction from the distal end of the cutting portion of the movable blade. With the paper holding plate firmly holding the paper against the feeding guide, the sliding mechanism further moves the movable blade into the opening. On carrying out the cutting operation, firstly the paper holding plate slidingly reaches the recording paper and tightly keeps the paper stationary. Thereafter the cutting portion of the movable blade moves forward enters into the opening to cut the paper. The result is that the recording paper does not escape when undergoing the cutting operation, the cutting quality can be kept excellent to a certain extent irrespective e.g.

  • Patent number: 5125306
Abstract: An overload assembly is disclosed for use with a tube cutting apparatus of the type having a die set for holding a tube while a blade cuts the tube. The die set comprises two die jaws having cam followers which contact a die jaw cam to move the die jaws to clamp the tube. The overload assembly allows one of the die jaws of the die set to stop moving when an obstruction is encountered. The overload assembly includes a spring mounted through a lever arm to the cam follower. An overload biasing force is applied to the cam follower through the lever arm. If an obstruction force exceeds the overload biasing force, the lever arm is rotated and the effective length of the lever arm is reduced, causing the overload biasing force to decay to a lesser value. A scarfing blade may initially score the tube prior to cutting. In one embodiment, the overload biasing force is applied to the die jaw which does not encounter a binding force between the scarfing blade and the tube.

Abstract: An improved table shear, and method for using same, for cutting sheet metal in precise dimensions. The table shear includes a hold down clamp in operative engagement with the cutting blade leverage mechanism. The apparatus includes a bottom support platen, a common support having depending therefrom, a top pressing platen and vertically-cutting blades. The bottom support platen and the top pressing platen are shaped to conform to the shape of the pre-shaped carpet.
