Abstract: A culinary tool for slicing and dicing, includes a base connected by a hinge to a frame that carries two cutting grids. A drive mechanism connects a pivoting handle to a pusher such that pivoting of the handle relative to the frame drives displacement of the pusher and the turning of the frame between the open and closed positions, and a forward stroke turns the frame about the hinge toward the base, pressing the item through the first cutting grid, and a reverse stroke moves the pusher to the one of the ends of the cavity, pressing the item through the second cutting grid.
Abstract: A system, method and device for cutting and peeling a root vegetable. The system includes a frame to receive a cooked root vegetable, a surface slidably connected to the frame to move linearly and reciprocally along at least a portion of the length of the frame, a wire assembly fixed to the frame and oriented perpendicular to the movement of the surface, and power to enable the surface to move toward the wire assembly. When the surface is activated, it moves the vegetable through the wire assembly which simultaneously cuts and removes the skin therefrom.
Abstract: An apparatus for portion cutting food items includes a first cutting device which comprises a cutting unit for the cutting of food items into strips. The apparatus includes one or more additional cutting devices, each comprising a cutting unit for cutting the strips into pieces of predetermined weight and dimensions. Measuring means are arranged in the first cutting device for scanning at least one of a shape, a structure and a dimension of the food item. The apparatus further comprises processor means with a control program for the planning of a portion-cutting profile on the basis of the scanning.
Abstract: Mechanical post-harvest processing devices for processing plant material by separating a desired portion of plant material from an undesired portion of plant material are shown and described. The mechanical post-harvest processing devices each include: a saddle having a plant material container-proximate region and one or more saddle openings; a plant material container having one or more plant material container openings and an exterior surface proximate the saddle and circumferentially enclosing a post-harvest processing space; and a rotary actuator mechanically connected to the plant material container and configured to rotationally drive the plant material container such that the plant material chamber rotates within the saddle. In some examples, a portion of the one or more plant material container openings and a portion of the one or more saddle openings overlap at one or more positions during rotation of the plant material chamber.
Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods are disclosed to manufacture a plurality of edible pieces in a continuous process where each piece is generally different in thickness, shape, size and/or texture from another piece, so as to create, in the aggregate product distribution, pieces of randomly varying thickness, size, shape and/or texture.

Abstract: An apparatus for cutting fruit. The apparatus includes a frame, at least first and second cutting stations, at least one receptacle in which the fruit is received that includes a plurality of extensions protruding outwardly from an outer circumference thereof, and a conveyor that conveys the receptacle from the first cutting station to the second cutting station. The frame includes a kicker. In use, the object is cut along its vertical axis at the first station, the receptacle is then rotated about its vertical axis as a result of one of the extensions contacting the kicker, and the object is cut at the second station.
Abstract: A system for cutting blocks of cheese or other food product into chunks includes conveyors for moving the blocks along an automated, continuous, in-line processing path. A block cutter cuts the blocks longitudinally and or vertically to provide one or more stacks of slabs which are destacked by a vacuum transfer apparatus. A transverse cutter cuts the individual slabs to create chunks of cheese or other food product. The conveyors include a stack conveyor located in the processing path for conveying successive stacks of slabs from the block cutter to the product destacking apparatus in succession, and a slab conveyor located in the processing path for conveying successive slabs from the product destacking apparatus to the transverse cutter. A trim cutting module includes a rotating mechanism that rotates a block during the trim operation, allowing trim to drop to a trim disposal conveyance.
Abstract: In an apparatus and a method for the manufacture of perforated plaster boards, provision is made for the operations of punching and cutting the sides to take place one directly after the other with the boards being held in position by grabbing and conveying equipments during the entire working time.
Abstract: Sheets held by a sheet transfer mechanism are supplied from a supply unit to an aligning unit, and aligned with each other by the aligning unit. Thereafter, corners of the sheets are cut off by first and second cutting units, and then the sheets are vertically inverted by an inverting unit. Then, the sheets are turned into a given direction by a turning unit, and supplied to a discharge unit, from which the sheets are discharged.
