  • Publication number: 20150121686
Abstract: A laminated iron core manufacturing method in a blanking die apparatus having multiple machining stations is provided. The method includes feeding a belt-shaped workpiece progressively in a longitudinal direction in the blanking die apparatus, operating cutting tools provided in the respective machining stations simultaneously to perform predetermined blanking operations on the progressively fed workpiece and finally perform a contour blanking operation on the workpiece so as to form core pieces, and laminating the core pieces within or outside the blanking die apparatus to thereby manufacture a laminated iron core. An auxiliary cutting tool is operated to form a disposal hole by partly blanking a scrap forming area of the workpiece simultaneously with the operations of the cutting tools of the multiple machining stations, to thereby secure a load balance of the blanking die apparatus in the feeding direction.

The method contemplates the use of alignment openings 21 and 22 on the surface of male and female tools 19 and 20 corresponding to a cut through-hole 16 on test sheet 14. As test sheet is urged through the process, a series of alignment cylinders, 18, 24 are used to insure each of the male and female tools and test sheet are aligned by having the alignment cylinders fall cleaning through the various alignment openings and through-hole. Once the tools at each position of the process are aligned, alignment screws 31 and alignment members 28 on the machine frame 25 serve to fix the position of the tools relative to the position of the sheets to be die-cut, stripped and blanked. Abstract: A cutoff system for exterior siding which includes a flying punch and shear. The system includes a main carriage which is adapted to reciprocate and, in one direction of travel, move at the same speed as the siding to be cut. A pair of punches are then actuated to form the hanger and butt notches at the lateral edges of the siding. Upon withdrawal of the punches, the travel of the main cylinder is slowed such that the siding travels away from the punching area. Upon sensing the notched areas, the main carriage is again moved to travel at the same speed as the siding. The speed is timed such that the center of the notches is located below a shear. This shear is then actuated to form a single parting line across the siding. The carriage is then retracted to await the next cycle of the system. As such, with each cycle of the system, the notches are formed in the trailing and leading edges of adjacent panel segments, and the leading panel segment cut from the continuous siding.

Abstract: A strip of tape is cut at intervals into precise cut lengths equal in length to that of a desired label of non-rectangular shape. The cut lengths of tape are positioned in exact alignment with a punch of a punch cutting assembly for punching out the label and the punched label is separated from waste about the rim of the label for delivery free of the waste. The cut lengths are transferred to a transfer drum periphery and held momentarily under vacuum pressure which vacuum pressure is released to allow the cut lengths to shift circumferentially about the periphery of the transfer drum against a stop to accurately locate the cut lengths prior to further transfer to the punch cutting assembly.

Abstract: A machine for continuously punching, shearing and forming sheet material comprises a frame and punching, shearing, and forming stations. Rollers are provided for continuously feeding sheet material through the stations. A cam periodically engages the tools of the respective punching and shearing stations to actuate the respective punching and shearing operations and simultaneously to advance the respective punching and shearing stations in unison with the direction of feed of the sheet material. The forming station includes adjustable rollers which permit adjustment of the space between the rollers. The method of the present invention comprises continuously feeding the sheet material through the punching, shearing, and forming stations. At the punching and shearing stations, the tools for punching and shearing the sheet material move in unison with the sheet material during the time that they are performing their punching and shearing operations, respectively.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for acting on angle irons or the like. A vertical stack of angle irons is provided and the angle irons are fed one at a time to a punching position. At the punching position a hole of selected size is punched in the angle iron, and the angle iron is fed from the punching position in a linear direction of movement to a cutting position. The length of the angle iron to be cut is determined by measuring the length of angle iron in the direction of movement past the cutting position, and the angle iron is cut at the cutting position. Cutting is accomplished using a crankshaft with at least one cutting blade operatively connected to the crankshaft at a portion thereof offset from a line between the bushings, guide structures being provided for guiding the linear movement of the cutting blade. Each cut angle iron is removed from the cutting position in a direction normal to the linear direction of movement of the angle iron to the cutting position.
